The 82 figure was actually as high as 92 in January 2022.
1 per 585.
The same figure for men generally is 1 in every 2500-3000.
That's not a manufactured panic, Nancy. That's a terrifying reality.
@Nancy_M_K , your much wished-for census has uncovered a very, very uncomfortable truth for your tribe.
Sexual offenders are WILDLY OVER-represented among transwomen, even compared to other men.
The paraphilia fear is real, and it's now statistically proven.
For viewers in Scotland, who must wait another year for full census statistics (@WingsScotland ), an interesting graph - the average number of sex offenders held in Scotland's jails for the past few years.
Note, there are clearly between 3 and 5 convicted women sex offenders.
Now that's interesting, because the number of transwomen sex offender prisoners held in the same period by Scottish Prison Service, by their own admission...is 6
And as in England, the same pattern - sex offenders are a tiny percentage of Scotlands female prisoners -....
...and yet make up almost 40% of the trans prisoners, and over half the transwomen prisoners....
There are probably somewhere between 2000-4000 transwomen in Scotland. There are almost 3 million women, last count.
2.8 million women - between 3 and 5 currently incarcerated sex offenders.
Between 2000 and 4000 transwomen - 6 currently incarcerated sex offenders.
As another sex offender once said - "Can you see what it is yet?"
hint - pick the transwomen mid range population estimate of 2-4000 (say, 3000) and divide it by six held, what do you get?
1 in 500.
Divide 2.8 million women by top edge of average 3-5 held?
1 in 520,000
In Ireland, land of self ID, the number of women in jail at any one time for sex offences is comparably small - 3 is the maximum, according to Irish Prison stats...
The same pattern held, btw - of the seven women convictions in as many years as the study could find, more than half were groomed accomplices of a primary male offender, and almost all were children (a couple were teacher-student cases). None were adult to adult primary abuse.
This is from a female prison population of 189, the majority held in mountjoy, while a few dozen are held on two floors in limerick.
There are three transwomen sex offenders as far as we know on those two floors alone.
The argument is, and has always been that MALES are a threat, however they look, however they identify, no matter what documents the state hands them.
@RebeccaMKBull@MForstater@HJoyceGender@LukeTryl@mrianleslie@Samfr The issue, in reality, is why males with a claimed trans identity expect, and somehow receive, exemptions from the ordinary exclusions and protections created to protect females from ALL male threat.
There is NO evidence that trans-identifying males are less of a threat. None.
@RebeccaMKBull@MForstater@HJoyceGender@LukeTryl@mrianleslie@Samfr Transgender rights and gender identity is a threat ONLY in so far as it provides cover for males - ANY males - to get around the standard protections and exclusions designed to protect the dignity, privacy and safety of females.
In England and Wales 82 'out' transwomen are currently incarcerated for serious sexual offences - that's the ones caught, prosecuted and jailed.
Using GIDES/ONS/STonewall figures that's roughly 1 per 3000 transwomen in the country /1
@jetfury In England and Wales, approximately 13,500 males are are currently incarcerated for serious sexual offences - that's the ones caught, prosecuted and jailed.
Using ONS/UK Census figures that's roughly 1 per 3000 males in the country /2
@jetfury In England and Wales, approximately 125 females are are currently incarcerated for serious sexual offences - that's the ones caught, prosecuted and jailed.
Using ONS/UK Census figures that's roughly 1 per 240,000 females in the country /3
