This is just one section of the NYPD lined up to help escort fascists to a clinic this morning so they can harass people seeking abortion care
The fascists emerged from the church two minutes ago, and then NYPD is already threatening everyone who isn’t on the fascist side with arrest
NYPD cops yuckin it up as they watch fascists try to go harass a clinic
The side that supports and defends the right to abortion (support @nycforabortion) is very successfully delaying the Christo-fascists from moving towards the clinic
A massive number of NYPD cops are again threatening people with arrest, for trying to slow the Christo-fascist procession to harass abortion providers
Organizers with @nycforabortion said that the fascists got a permit this week, which might have something to do with the monstrous NYPD presence, although they protect this procession monthly. But this begs the question, how did they get a permit to harass a clinic?

All of this is to dismantle a homeless encampment in Minneapolis. Thinking about this especially in contrast with climate disasters like what we just saw in Buffalo, and how the state invests in violence to the point where it defunds what we need to survive.
As i read this story about a man, who is undoubtedly a hero for saving a whole bunch of people, I was struck by how he needed to break into a school to survive. In large part because care and survival have been defunded in order to fund violence.
This is one reason that, although electoralism generally isn't my jam, I think the left should think very seriously about trying to win power in local governments. Check out the municipal approach of groups like @CooperationJXN or read more below.
