Food companies are sneaking toxic ingredients into your food.

And they put labels on them that carry no value to make you think they're "healthy".

Here are 6 things you need to look out for and how to recognize them:
The food industry thrives from your ignorance.

They push foods that…

🔷Make you addicted
🔷Don’t cost a lot for you to buy
🔷Don’t cost a lot for them to produce

No matter how dangerous they are for you.

All they want is the $ in your pocket.

Here's how they do it 👇
1. Sugar

Sugar is found in 75% of packaged foods around the world.

Common culprits are…

🔶Soup
🔶Candy
🔶Cereal
🔶Quick oats
🔶Baked goods
🔶Energy drinks
🔶Flavored yogurt
🔶Granola bars/mix
🔶Dressings/sauces
🔶Frozen dinners/deserts

And more...

Here's how they hide it 👇
There are many names for sugar that food companies use to confuse you.

Here are the names you need to look out for:
2. Gums

Gums thicken, emulsify, and stabilize food.

Many reveal positive health impacts in moderation.

But frequent intake is associated with digestive complications…some of which I’ve experienced myself.

Be especially careful if you're dairy-free!

Where gums are hidden👇
Types of gums…

🔷Cellulose
🔷Agar gum
🔷Guar gum
🔷__ lecithin
🔷Gellan gum
🔷Acacia gum
🔷Carrageenan
🔷Xanthan gum
🔷Carob/locust bean gum

Common culprits…

🔶Cereal
🔶Condiments
🔶Nut/oat milk
🔶Chewing gum
🔶Protein powder
🔶Frozen desserts
🔶Dairy-free foods

And more...
3. Animal products

Companies put buzzwords on their animal products to make them sound safer to the consumer.

Most of them don’t actually say anything about the animal’s lifestyle habits or how it was cared for.

Here are the food labels you need to know 👇
Labels w/ NO requirements:

🔴Grass-fed
🔴Free-range
🔴Antibiotic-free
🔴Vegetarian-fed
🔴Raised without hormones

Labels w/requirements:

🟢Pasture-raised
🟢100% grass-fed
🟢USDA-certified organic
🟢OTCO-certified organic

There's 1 more thing to keep in mind here...
Many animal products have added sodium nitrates/nitrites (i.e. celery powder/juice).

Nitrates occur naturally in plants.

But are added to food to enhance flavor/color/texture.

Resulting in a carcinogenic effect that damages DNA.

Avoid by sticking w/the "labels w/requirements"
4. Seed oils

These products have many omega-6 fats and few omega-3 fats.

Consuming too much omega-6 fat is associated with a variety of chronic diseases.

This is primarily due to the oxidative stress (“the cell killer”) your body is exposed to.

Where you can find them 👇
Names include...

🔷Corn
🔷Canola
🔷Soybean
🔷Rice bran
🔷Sunflower
🔷Safflower
🔷Grapeseed
🔷Cottonseed
🔷Vegetable oil/shortening
🔷Partially hydrogenated oils

Common culprits…

🔶Soup
🔶Sauce
🔶Nut butter
🔶Nut/oat milk
🔶Cookies/chips
🔶Frozen dinners/deserts

And more...
5. Added colors

Added colors (i.e. food dyes) come from petroleum.

Many are banned due to health concerns.

But legal dyes still carry carcinogens (ex: benzidine).

Consumption is associated w/abnormal immune responses, damage of DNA in cells, and cancer.

How to find them👇
Dye names…

🔷Blue #1
🔷Blue #2
🔷Green #3
🔷Orange Bd
🔷FD&C lakes
🔷Artificial color
🔷Red #3 or #40
🔷Citrus Red #2c
🔷E___ (ex: E102)
🔷Yellow #5 or #6

Common culprits…

🔶Jerky
🔶Syrup
🔶Cereal
🔶Frosting
🔶OTC medicine
🔶Granola bar/mix
🔶Flavored yogurt

And more...
6. Artificial Sweeteners

People use these to cut their sugar/caloric intake.

But these sweeteners...

♦️Often lead to overconsumption
♦️Increase pathogenic (“bad”) gut bacteria
♦️Increase risk of coronary heart + kidney diseases

Where to find these 👇
Harmful...

🔷Xylitol
🔷Neotame
🔷Sucralose
🔷Saccharin
🔷Aspartame
🔷Acesulfame potassium

Proven less harmful…

🔷Stevia extract
🔷Monk fruit extract

Common culprits...

🔶Cereal
🔶Diet soda/tea
🔶Protein powder
🔶Flavored yogurt
🔶Sugar-free foods

And more...
TL/DR

1. Sugar
2. Gums
3. Animal products
4. Seed oils
5. Added colors
6. Artificial sweeteners

2+ billion people in the world are nutrient deficient.

And most don’t know why they need micronutrients, how much of them to consume, or where to get them from.

Here’s my micronutrient cheat sheet:
Micronutrients are made up of vitamins and minerals.

Each vitamin/mineral serves a different purpose when it comes to achieving optimal health.

Let me show you the function of each and which sources will help you achieve optimal levels 👇
Let’s start with vitamins…

Vitamin A = Immune + vision + skin health
💥Sources = Sweet potatoes + liver + spinach
💥Daily value = 900 mcg

Vitamin B1 = Carbohydrate metabolism + stress reduction
💥Sources = Pork + flaxseeds + green peas
💥Daily value = 1.1-1.2 mg

Stress is one of the biggest gut health killers.

Here are 5 ways to reduce your stress levels and improve your gut health:
Stress reshapes the makeup of gut bacteria through hormones + inflammation + autonomic nervous system.

As a result, gut bacteria releases metabolites + toxins + neurohormones that destroy our eating habits/mood.

Let me show you some strategies to avoid these consequences 👇
1. Write before bed

Writing is especially useful for overcoming traumatic events and reducing stress/emotional tension.

Nobody wants to stay up and worry about what happened today or what might happen tomorrow.

Let me show you some writing strategies I like to use...

Don’t have time to eat healthily while traveling?!

B.S.

Here are 5 strategies you can use to prioritize healthy food that tastes amazing without sacrificing additional time and effort: Image
Eating healthily while traveling can be hard because you're out of your comfort zone.

It’s easy to say “fuck it” and give up on looking for the best options.

This can lead to self-criticism and can make it hard to enjoy your trip.

Let me show you how to avoid this feeling 👇
1. Eat raw foods/foods cooked in water

This is my eating strategy at airports.

Favorite options:

-Fruit
-Sashimi
-Raw nuts
-Boiled eggs
-Steamed rice
-Celery/carrots
-Boiled veggies
-Dark chocolate

Combine options + add mustard/hot sauce/lemon wedges for flavor boosts.

Over the past 3 months, I've done everything in my power to improve my sleep

I got life-changing results by….

1. Getting A.M. sunlight
2. Dimming lights at night
3. The 321 method

Case study on @FitFounder

Let’s go 👇
Our circadian rhythm is our body's internal clock.

It tells us when to eat, sleep, exercise, etc.

When we go against our circadian rhythm we have issues sleeping, focusing, staying energized, etc.

Here are the tips Dan taught me to better align myself with my circadian rhythm!
1. Getting A.M. sunlight

This is the first step to aligning ourselves with our circadian rhythms.

I've done this by walking towards the sun for 10-15 minutes every morning.

I went from laying in bed for >45 minutes to <10 minutes before I fall asleep.
