“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Presley said in a statement provided to @AP. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
Born in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 1, 1968, Presley lived most of her life in the spotlight. Her father’s fans closely followed the details of her birth, and tabloids documented her romances with high-profile husbands including musician Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.
When her father died of cardiac arrythmia on Aug. 16, 1977, Presley became the only heir to his massive estate, including his beloved Tennessee home. Her mother, as executor, co-founded Elvis Presley Enterprises. #LisaMariePresley
During her days overseeing the Elvis Presley Trust and Elvis Presley Enterprises, Presley married into music royalty. In 1994, she wed the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and celebrated their “unusual” bond. #LisaMariePresley
“He had something so intoxicating about him, and when he was ready to share with you and be himself ... He was like a drug for me,” she told Oprah Winfrey back then. They divorced in 1996. #LisaMariePresley
In music, Presley looked to define her own path. She released her debut album in 2003 at age 35. The LP made a creative virtue of her life experience, with songs about her complicated family history and the disillusioning aspects of celebrity.
Presley was seen in public on Tuesday when at the Golden Globe Awards, where she joined actor @austinbutler during a red-carpet interview. Butler later won the Golden Globe for playing Presley’s father in the film 'Elvis.' #LisaMariePresley

The average retail price for a dozen large eggs jumped to $7.37 in California this week, up from $4.83 at the beginning of December and just $2.35 at this time last year, data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture show.
The cause is an unprecedented outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza — commonly known as bird flu — that has killed tens of millions of egg-layers nationwide.
Among these are millions of cage-free hens California relies on to comply with Proposition 12, the 2018 animal welfare initiative that took effect last year. latimes.com/california/sto…
