Hi @CarnivalCruise@hyattregency how do you feel about your brand being associated with #MissUniverse while they use your advertising money to support Russian genocide of Ukrainians?
Are you aware @CarnivalCruise@hyattregency that your ads will be on the same screen as Miss Russia, who proudly represents a country that systematically and forcibly kidnaps Ukrainian children to be “adopted” by Russian families?
Or that your ads @CarnivalCruise@hyattregency will be associated with Miss Russia’s comrades, who torture Ukrainian children in occupied territories?
This young boy from Kherson didn’t get to “choose fun” or “be cared for so [he] could be [his] best”. Instead, he was tortured.
I don’t know why @MissUniverse felt it appropriate or representative of their values to allow Miss Russia to compete knowing she supports this. It’s definitely a question to #AskMissUniverse , but right now I’m asking you @CarnivalCruise@hyattregency if you support this genocide
I find it interesting that @MissUniverse who claims to, “create & provide a safe space for women to share their stories & drive impact”, are platforming & celebrating a country who @UNHumanRights proved use sexual violence as a weapon on Ukrainians of all ages. @CarnivalCruise
“Victims age ranged from 4 to over 80.”
“In most cases, these acts also amount to torture and cruel or inhumane treatment for the victims and for relatives who were forced to watch.”
Timothy Snyder gave an absolute masterclass and whipped the floor with russia in this security council meeting so much that the ambassador mumbled and said “we will have to respond later” 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m dying like literally buckled over laughing hahaha
Truly my jaw was on the floor watching his rebuttal at the end and then seeing the Russian blubbering afterwards. It was pure gold 🤌
“Hi yes, you ask for my sources? I will point you to Vladimir Putin on the Kremlin website as well as @JuliaDavisNews whose work has been invaluable in sharing the words of Russian state tv hosts which is directly controlled by the Kremlin and proves genocidal intent” 🔥
It’s actually WAY more than 10% for the big guy when it comes to Ukraine… if you’re talking about direct economic injection into the US economy
For well-meaning Americans concerned about the price of our support to Ukraine, here’s a great explainer 👉
For instance, between 1) Scranton, PA 2) Middletown, IA 3) Kingsport, TN
About $678 million was allocated for manufacturing jobs/capacity to make shells.
2/
Other main areas of spending that literally don’t even go to Ukraine:
- billions to decrease energy prices domestically
- $10 billion for US/NATO troop forward deployments in fall 2022
- most of the military “aid” is actually just spent on replenishing our own equipment
