ヾ(・ω・*) japanese immersion resources i use to make learning easier and fun! — #langtwt#studytwt
—GENERAL TOOLS 1. Yomichan
allows you to easily look up japanese text by holding a key, same idea of copy pasting a word into jisho but all done in one movement, best used when paired with other tools in this thread
yt guide:
2. Anki
everyone knows good ol anki, pair this with yomichan and you can add the new words you just discovered
yt guide: <- gr8 youtuber abt learning japanese thru immersion!!! would also recommend
2.5. JPDB (jpdb.io)
alternatively, if the content you're consuming is anime/manga/etc., you can find a premade deck containing all the words found in that content
(ex: haruhi suzumiya deck)
WHY ANKI/JPDB? WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?
anki
- sentence mining is easier
- more customizable
jpdb
- at its peak with premade decks from content
- better srs algorithm (u r not held at gunpoint if u miss One day)
i say just give both a try!
3. ShirabeJisho/JidouJisho
sj is available only on ios, whereas jj is the android equivalent (+ more features), but its basically jisho.org on mobile! perfect for on the go reading :3
—GAME TOOLS 4. Textractor/Game2Text
extracts the script directly from the game but not all games will work with textractor, so an alt is game2text, an ocr that scans the window for text (also extracts!)
textractor:
game2text:
—ALL-IN-ONE RESOURCES 5. Jo Mako's List
contains a readability/difficulty list for some anime, video games, manga, as well as a list of common kanji and grammar points, and even more resources linked!
important things to take away from here are the premade anki decks and most importantly for video games: the game script! game scripts are useful for games where u can't use the prev tools, since you can just use yomichan to look up words. sites.google.com/view/jo-mako/r…
—thats all! thanks for checking this thread out, hope its useful and good luck fellow learners! ( ´ ω ` )ノ゙
