@GovKathyHochul showed up to Sunset Park and not only used MLK legacy but also Sunset park community as pawns to push her conservative judge. And the worst part was she brought police with her and kicked out a respected, afro-latina leader who belongs to the church. #NoLaSalle
Politicians use churches to push themselves but this was so crass and blatant. Hochul barely even talked about MLK before switching to promoting Lasalle nomination and twisting MLK’s words to justify a moderate who literally thought racial bias in jury selection was totally fine
Hochul even went to the low of talking about dissent to Lasalle as if it’s was basically all lies when opposition has been based on clear cases that trigger huge concerns about his judgement and ideology. #NoLaSalle
Genesis, friend and local leader who was kicked out by police was praying for hochul to pass bills like #goodcause which helps tenants sue landlords for extreme rent increases. genesis is part of @housing4allNY, we need to fund NYCHA and take back land @RPPHNYC@nodisplacement
@Sen_Gounardes newly represents sunset park, my district. it’s important now that he publicly states if he’s a yes or no vote and openly explains to his constituents his stance. The No votes have been very clear on their rationale. Would like to see the same from other senators.
take action and fill this out to let your state senator know, Hochul is wrong and shoving Lasalle down constituents throats or getting him passed with bad deals with republicans is unexcusable. p2a.co/pf9ft4o
Genesis in the video while she was getting thrown out of her church was telling kathy hochul to back good cause, that’s part of a group of bills for @housing4allNY check it out here hj4a.org/TakeAction
To those not familiar with some of the awful rulings from Lasalle, here’s a op-ed that breaks down a bunch of terrible decisions and there’s many more that other Law professors have mentioned. syracuse.com/opinion/2023/0…
