#haqqanibajwafiles update.
When news broke out abt Bajwa-H.Haqqani meetings in UAE, I was curious about HH’s movements. Turns out that HH has been in Abu Dhabi as diplomat-in-residence as the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Acdmy including in Jan’23. 😉
Guess who else was in UAE in mid Jan?
Now I'm sure, this is all a coincidence so let's discuss the academy. It does some regular diplomatic training and arranges events around Abrahamic Accords etc.
Some initiatives of the academy might be concerning for Pakistan. For e.g., there is discussion of West Quad (Israel,India,UAE,US) named after Quad (US, Aus, India, and Japan) which will tilt UAE further away from Pakistan.

Qasim Ali Shah Foundation & Enable Pakistan program has been putting up FAKE videos of youngsters who 'turned millionaires by following QAS's advice and enrolling in his courses'. Apparently, 1000s of poor & naive youngsters paid hefty sums to enrol in his program.

This is nothing personal against QAS who may be a good speaker (never bothered to hear him). However, pls share so that people are not swindled.

🔴 Startling Story: Omer Farouk Adam claims that Gen Bajwa abused his power & used spying charge to punish Gen Javed Iqbal for discussing / dissenting the extension plan!

Mentions that Gen Sarfraz (killed in copter crash) was aware of the case & there are other similar cases.
Omer Farouk Adam (who comes from a decorated military family and is serving as Gen Iqbal lawyer) made these claims in an interview with Rauf Klara.
Klasra makes a poor attempt at probing further about the motivation and concludes that one word of extension 'unleashed a storm’ whereas Adam hints that there is much more depth concerning the extension plan as this was the only info that was about the future.

As PDM threatened VoNC and Imran Khan was preparing his trip for Russia, Gen Bajwa went on a mysterious trip 18th-22nd Feb. What was he up to ? A thread🧵
The only official part of the trip was the Bajwa met some EU officials in Belgium on 18th Feb:

It looked like a strange visit considering he did not visit the Nato head quarters in Brussels. Neither did he visit the Munich Security Conference that was held not too far away on the same days (18-20 Feb) and is important for Afg policy.

It’s a pity that ppl such as Uzair Younus and Fahd Hussain dominate the English medium narrative esp. on @dawn_com. I just read Uzair’s piece on the COAS which is rich on sophistry. (1/n) A thread with some comments.
