Now which one I weigh at Highest Level?

It's the 7 SEWERAGE TREATMENT PLANTS to be Set Up by #BMC for which PM Modi Ji performed Bhoomi Poojans.

Estimated cost: ₹26000 Cr.

Expected Completion: in 4-6 yrs.

Now why am I so ecstatic about this Project?

Why?

Mumbai,island city,has abundant water resources,but water is often polluted by effluents & this project will⬇️Toxic Level in city’s water bodies.

STP is treatment facility that removes pollutants from sewage to make it less hazardous & safe to discharge into water bodies.

AT PRESENT,sewage is collected at 7 zones in Mumbai--Worli,Bandra, Colaba,Versova,Malad,Ghatkopar & Bhandup, BUT, treated ONLY at PRIMARY LEVEL before being released into water bodies like creeks,rivers & Arabian Sea.

So why isn't it enough?

Primary treatment of sewage includes removal of ONLY those materials that either float or sink to bottom.

But New 7 STPs are being constructed as per Strict Central Pollution Control Board norms & Sewage will be treated at SECONDARY & TERTIARY levels too.

How it helps?

Secondary level of treatment removes soluble organic matter that escapes Primary Treatment & more of suspended solids. This is then further treated, filtered & polished as part of Tertiary Level treatment.

This will reduce Water Pollution in Water Bodies by atleast 50%.

So didn't #BMC know anything on STPs before?

Ofcourse it did! BMC has enough Competent Administrators being Richest Municipal Corporation in Asia!

Then what stopped it?

UDDHAV THACKERAY'S GANG which is running BMC since 25 yrs!!

The idea of STPs was 1st mooted in 2002, but it did not materialise due to Obstacles put by Uddhav Gang.

The project was re-conceptualised in 2009 & again Sat Over in Standing Committee chaired by Uddhav Gang.

Finally, tendering process started in 2019 but....

Again got delayed.

Why? Is there need to ask?

BMC had estimated total cost to be ₹16412 Crores! But tenders filled by Contractors were 30-70% above BMC estimates!!

Why? Contractors को Uddhav Gang का COMMISSION भी Tender में Add करना पड़ता है, भाई। समझा करो।

@Dev_Fadnavis Ji In 2021,had demanded scrapping of tenders for these 7 STPs owing to being
“INFLATED"

Finally,after SC’s directives to BMC to award tenders by 31 May 22, BMC finalised contractors for construction & maintenance of STPs with final project cost ₹26000 Cr

Tendering starts 2019(₹16412 Cr)
Final Tenders ₹26000 Cr due to escalations in Construction Costs from 12%-18%

Extra Cost on Taxpayers: ₹9588 Cr

Why?

Because UDDHAV GANG WANTED TO COMMISSION to buy BMW in ₹6 Lakhs for Yuvraj

And someone pls tell Yuvraj Thackeray that being an
“ENVIORNMENTALIST"...he should have understood that Contaminated Sewerage Water released in Mumbai's Water Bodies was more dangerous to Environment than cutting FEW Trees in #Aarey for Metro Carshed.

Finally.. @narendramodi Ji has conducted Bhoomi Poojan today for 7 STPs.

Now just that Uddhav Gang must be permanently kicked out of BMC.
Otherwise,they'll Surely put obstacles in on-going work.
