And now a time of reflection in preparation for praying the Rosary.
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life, pray for us!
All the earth shall bow down before you, O God, and shall sing to you, shall sing to your name, O Most High!
Entrance antiphon, Ps 66 (65):4
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
Alleluia Verse, 2 Cor 5:19:
You have prepared a table before me, and how precious is the chalice that quenches my thirst.
Communion Antiphon, Ps 23 (22):5
Take my yoke upon you, says the Lord; and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.
Mt 11:29
God of power and mercy, through your Son’s passion and resurrection you have freed us from the bonds of death and the anguish of separation from you. Be ever with us on our pilgrimage; then we shall sing rather than weep…
Keep our feet from stumbling, so that we may be able to follow you until we come to eternal rest.
Some intentions follow. Feel free to add your own to the thread, too.
Please pray for priests, bishops, Pope Francis, especially for those in lands where persecution is intense, especially for @CardJosephZen.
Please pray for the repose of the souls of the late Pope Benedict XVI/Joseph Ratzinger & George Cardinal Pell. May they rest in peace.
From the USCCB: Novena in Memory of Pope Benedict XVI
“The entire Church mourns the death of our Emeritus Holy Father, Benedict XVI."

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life, pray for us!
The Rosary proper begins now! I hope you’ll join me. Add your intentions, too, if you are moved to do so. God bless you!
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life, pray for us!
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd children there the treasures of grace hidden…
(There’s a place in this prayer for your personal prayer intention.)
(For those who don’t believe, we pray…)
I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord…
For the Holy Father
Our Father Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us…
For an increase of Faith, Hope, & Charity in our souls & our world
Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
& blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us now
& at the hour of our death.
(Glory be, here and at the end of each decade.)
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
The USCCB has asked us to fast and pray with special intentions for the Rosary. (Originally for May 13th, but I’m keeping it in our Rosary & the one on my blog, too).
Note: Near the end of tonight’s thread there is the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life, from the USCCB. But remember, all of these ending prayers are optional. Use whichever ones you want to or skip them altogether.
Optional Closing Prayers
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Hail, our life, our sweetness, & our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve…
Optional Closing Prayers
Let us pray: O God…
Optional Closing Prayers
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host…
Optional Closing Prayers
O Angel of God, my Guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here.
Ever this night be at my side,
to light, to guard, to rule, and to guide.
Amen.
Optional Closing Prayers
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood Of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, sinners everywhere, in the Universal Church, within my own home…
The USCCB asked the faithful to add this prayer after the Rosary (by Pope Leo XIII) during the Year of St. Joseph. I’m keeping it here in our Rosary. 🙏🏻

"The world religions can play the role of the star that puts men on the path, that leads them to search for the kingdom of God. The star of the religions points toward Jerusalem; it is extinguished and relit in the Word of God, in the Holy Scripture of Israel."
The Word of God preserved in Scripture appears as the true star, which we cannot dispense with or ignore if we wish to reach the goal. When the Catechism calls the star the “star of David”, it further connects the story of the wise men to Balaam’s prophecy...
concerning the star that rises from Jacob (Nb 24:17). It sees this prophecy linked in turn with Jacob’s blessing of Judah, in which he promises the staff and scepter to the one “to whom the obedience of the peoples is due” (Gen. 49:10).
+JMJ+ Welcome to our Twitter Rosary Thread for the Epiphany, the last of the 12 days of Christmas. We’re praying to cultivate a civilization of life & love.
O, Come let us adore Him!
