years ago, lumity was known as a sweet and innocent school crush. amity couldn't stop blushing, they had adorable pet names, etc etc. every little romantic gesture was a huge deal because they were new to this. it was exciting and precious to watch unfold.
by the end of season 2, they're past the nervous blushing, giggling, and overly sappy stage. they began to understand each other more and feel a bit more comfortable. it's more than a cute crush. their relationship is getting serious. they help each other through hardships like
luz's dad passing, amity's overbearing parents, and luz feeling torn between the demon and human realms. they build trust and learn how to be there for each other. it's already super rare for a show to portray this stage of a relationship but the owl house just keeps going.
NOW they've fully become each other's support systems, especially since luz is struggling so much with her guilt and going through depression. amity is immediately supportive and she knows exactly what luz needs because she knows her so well.

back to ftf, i saw someone confused why luz "ignores" amity's kiss, but it's not like that. they're at a stage in their relationship that physical affection like this is normal now. they've matured and grown so much. im so proud of them

that's not to say we'll never see adorable and lighthearted lumity moments again or that those moments aren't as important. they're still plenty innocent and sweet. it's just amazing to see how far they've come. i'm so thankful we have such beautiful and well written wlw rep.
