Have you heard of Ahmad Manasra?
Today is his 21st birthday! He has been imprisoned in israeli jails since age 13.

In 2015 Israeli authorities arrested Ahmad Manasra, who was then 13 years old, and harshly interrogated and threatened him without a lawyer present. He has been in prison ever since, and in solitary confinement since early November 2021.

Ahmad has developed serious mental health problems since his arrest as a child eight years ago due to the severe interrogation methods and torture, as a case of “terrorism”.

Ahmad has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, is suffering from psychotic delusions, and is severely depressed with suicidal thoughts.

He was arrested on 12 October 2015 in relation to the stabbing and injury of two Israeli citizens in Pisgat Zeev, an illegal Israeli settlement in occupied Jerusalem.

Despite being found by the courts not to have participated in the stabbings, he was convicted of attempted murder in 2016 in proceedings marred by allegations of torture, and despite the fact that he was below the minimum age of criminal responsibility at the time.

Ahmad Manasra was initially sentenced to 12 years in prison, later reduced to nine years, for being with his cousin Hassan Manasra (who was martyred in front of him), who allegedly stabbed two Israeli settlers in 2015.

At the time, in 2015, videos were published of harsh scenes of him lying on the ground screaming and injured, while occupation soldiers also tried to pin him to the ground and abuse him, while passers by were attacking, insulting, and cursing him.

Also, later on, a video was leaked, from the interrogation of Ahmad (a minor) who was clearly terrified, and being yelled at, by a grown man, asking him to admit and confess, while Ahmad repeatedly said "I Can't remember"

Manasra, has spent more than a year in solitary confinement, making his mental health condition even worse! The israeli occupation coutrs, refuse to release him early, and any appeals, but they also keep renewing his solitary confinement every 4 months!

UN, EU and Amnesty, among many others have all called for Ahmad Manasra's immediate released.
