Coronation of Sambhaji Maharaj happened after many internal conflicts and issues with Maharani Soyrabai (second wife of Shivaji Maharaj).

A section of the court didn't want to enthrone Sambhaji after the demise of Shivaji Maharaj, therefore Sambhaji was made captive in Panhala fort. And Soyrabai's son Chhatrapati Rajaram who was just 10 years old was made to sit on the throne.
