VA Senate President, Dem @SenLouiseLucas “lucked out” as Portsmouth, VA got over $14.8 million from @HUDgov+VA Housing for a 50-unit Low-Income Housing Tax Credit project at 1100 High St; DIRECTLY across Lucas’ marijuana store, Cannabis Outlet, just 1yr after her store opens
🧵
Project is called Bains Pointe at 1100 High Street, Portsmouth, Virginia 23704 - corner of High St & Elm Ave
RIGHT across street from Sen Lucas’ pot shop & health care/transit biz, Lucas Lodge
$15,000,000 in tax credits; Portsmouth Econ Devl’p voted 6-0 to sell city owned land
What’s peculiar: the Market Feasibility Analysis done by Bowen National Research looks at local businesses; lists buildings & companies surrounding the site…
EXCEPT it never lists Lucas’ Cannabis Outlet, which was open 1yr+ … only “commercial retail,” other shops ARE named
2022: Portsmouth, VA applied & won $19 million of Biden’s Infrastructure Bill for High St; exactly at @SenLouiseLucas’ pot shop & next to her office & Lucas Lodge biz
Lucky right? 🧵
Proposal calls the Cannabis Outlet store/lot vacant or underutilized, DESPITE its 2021 opening
Louise Lucas’ “Cannabis Outlet” store and parking lot continued to be highlighted as a possible investment zone for auto stores, even a regional transportation hub.
Huh. Imagine that. Lucrative.
“This lot has the potential to redevelop as a number of uses including auto-oriented service or commercial uses that could utilize the existing parking lot and amenities or as a high density multi-family development. Due to its proximity to existing multi-family developments, it could serve as a transitional use from the Westbury neighborhood to the more intense commercial uses along High Street and anchor an important corner in the district.”
So when’s this project supposed to be completed?
End of 2029. Maybe Portsmouth remains in poverty because its leaders & regs are inept… you can’t build, so why invest?
“Construction would start early 2027 & is estimated to take 30 months prior to project closeout late in 2029”
Col Brian Connelly (still married to husband) promoted his illegal “pup” relationships with DoD junior officers - incl US Army Capt Tenney - while still on active duty
DoD did NOTHING
Now Connelly has access to USNA midshipmen away from their families (2/4)
DoD, now @DeptofWar, continues to allow the rot of past administrations to fester at its service academies
2 years ago we documented “furry culture” at USNA & throughout the military… servicemembers disgracing the uniform without penalty
