Following the Russian bot attack in my replies, I actually want to elaborate on this topic - because it’s very interesting for me as well.
Thread 🧵
Put it clear.
I am Ukrainian who wants to live in Ukraine, and I want my kids to live in Ukraine.
Since 24th Feb, I have dedicated 200% of my time, intelligence and effort to equip my friends in Ukrainian Army.
I am all into Ukraine. Not only by words, but by actions as well.
Yet I am not in the military yet.
Starting from 24th Feb, I have went to many queues to military offices to join the fight, but it was impossible at that time - military offices in Ukraine were overloaded and they were not accepting people without previous combat experience.
Still, I waited in all the queues, and updated my information in my local military office to which I am attached and said that I am ready if they need me.
Bit of background on me - I am 24yo, with higher education in computer science, with no military experience or education.
I am physically strong and very fit, can do military physique tests easily (15+ pull-ups, etc), I know how to shoot various weapons, and I am motivated.
So my military office has all that information, and they did not call me yet - even though they know I am always ready - with my own gear, and with connections in the units where I want to possibly serve.
And I think it’s a miracle. See why 👇
With almost 12months into this active warfare against Russia, I think Ukraine should have exhausted its resources, and called me to serve, but this didn’t happen yet - therefore I continue my unpaid work at @dzygaspaw to equip Ukrainian military with high tech gear.
Still, I think, that it is very possible that I will be drafted anytime soon.
Because it’s war - it’s either Ukraine survives or not. I want Ukraine to win, so I will respond to draft in a second. I am ready.
Until then, I think I can make more impact by running the fund.
I also wondered in which type of Armed Forces I would like to serve.
Currently, I am leaning towards artillery as a soldier.
I am physically fit, able to withstand harsh conditions, good with tech.
I would not want to be in assault units since I don’t have any skills related.
And I like to shoot artillery and to see the results of these strikes - because sometimes it’s straight massive.
I think, artillery makes enormous impact in this war.
That’s why I picked up a unit from artillery brigade and we are supporting them as much as we can as fund.
Long story short, there is Russian disinformation that Ukraine is doing forced mobilization, but it’s not true.
I can’t confirm this as Ukrainian.
But I can confirm that Russia is doing this - massively, especially in temporary occupied Donetsk and Luhansk.
Anyway, I will keep you posted and please better trust Ukrainian sources - especially personalities, not big media.
We’ll be alright. Ukraine will win, and we will make it happen.
Russian strikes at Dnipro - aftermath and thoughts from Ukraine.
Russia is using their best missiles to cause civilian terror, they still have a lot of those missiles left.
There are certain Ukrainians who are more harmful than useful.
My own reaction and emotions.
🧵
Russians used X-22 missiles to cause terror in Dnipro. They specifically targeted residential 9 stares building with their most precise cruise missile.
There are no military targets in the area, and X-22 is Russian top high tech in the world of cruise missiles.
I don’t want to be pessimistic, but here is what I think.
Russians will do it again. They have a lot of those missiles left. They have sent about 200 such missiles in Ukraine already, and Ukraine didn’t have any means to shoot them down. It’s a very powerful missile.
Russian opposition. What I think of it as Ukrainian?
Since I know a bit of Russian context, I must admit I don’t believe a bit from them.
Still, I understand why they get sympathy from the West.
🧵
Unfortunately, RU opposition lives off Western grant money, and spread non-stop propaganda of poor Russian nation who has been betrayed by evil putin, and it’s only he who is at fault.
They say Russians should not be responsible for ”putin’s war”.
Russians should not be responsible for Russian economy putting their best efforts towards the war in Ukraine, Russian factories make weapons against Ukraine, Russian people willfully go to the military offices to go kill Ukrainians.
Bakhmut is very interesting in terms of Russian warfare.
Russians are changing their tactics, given they are losing hundreds there daily.
Now, there are waves of low-value Russian fighters spamming the city, and after them there are trained Wagner groups with night vision.
🧵
Trained Wagner groups seem to be much more effective, given Ukrainians are not rich in resources, and still having to deal with civilians who are still in Bakhmut.
Civilians refuse to leave.
Also, interesting aspect - low-value fighters like Wagner-prisoners seem to be on drugs.
I have seen live footage from the drones where artillery piece hit right next to a group of Wagner-prisoners. Most of them still running forward, attacking. Some of them fall immediately.
Ukraine needs to be nationalistic now in order to survive the war against Russia.
It has been puzzling my mind for a few months now.
I am happy to share my thoughts re nationalism as Ukrainian in Ukraine.
🧵🧵🧵
First off, we must note Russian propaganda saying Ukraine is nazi.
I am absolutely disagreeing with this since nazism implies superiority of one nation over others - which is not the case in Ukraine, not a mainstream belief, or anyhow popular in politics or casual life.
What is happening in Ukraine since 2014 in different proportions in different regions?
Ukrainians hate Russians for invading their country and committing open genocide against people of Ukraine.
Russians are clear enemies of people who live in Ukraine.
