#BBCdocumentry has not only exposed what happened in 2002 but also exposed how hollow, powerless and weak Modi is in 2023. With aggressive attempts to stifle democracy by banning documentary, he’s exposed as a despotic leader in front of the world.

All his PR to project him
as a global leader have been blasted in one stroke.

With his image in a free fall, he’s also destroyed Indian judiciary’s once stellar credibility by manipulating and bribing justices offering post retirement sops.

Indian judiciary remained impervious to use of agencies by
erstwhile governments and kept delivering justice as central pillar of a healthy democracy. Not any more.

In his zest of snatching clean chits from every single law enforcement agency, Modi killed the very fabric of responsible democracy.

Today, he’s single-handedly tarnished
India’s perception as an ideal nation accommodating multiple cultures, faiths and ideologies in a single successful thread the world used to admire and take inspiration.

In pursuit of religious hegemony, one man and his extremist organisation have inflicted irreversible damage.
In the larger scheme of things, the Delhi riots were not important. Says Swapan Dasgupta in #BBCDocumentary episode 2.

What an absolute waste of education in Oxford. Perhaps @UniofOxford should make a statement about the quality of their education and Dasgupta not their student!

For the record, American researchers have time and time again proven their findings right.

Delve into history and dig out former PM of India Morarji Desai's libel case in Chicago District Court against an allegation levelled by Seymour Hersh naming Desai as CIA mole in his book
'The Price Of Power'.

Morarji Desai lost the case and Seymour Hersh acquitted by court after six months long trial. In the US, it is the plaintiff who has to prove that the defendant's allegations are false. Desai had to prove that he had never been a CIA "asset"
- a difficult task as the agency is not in the habit of providing affidavits; that Hersh's information was false; that he had knowingly printed lies about Desai; and that he had doubts about the truth of his allegations.

Thread on #Morbi

Morbi is in national news because of #MorbiBridgeCollapse claiming 140 plus lives pointing to gaping holes in infrastructure projects and its maintenance as well as administrative negligence.

Let's delve into Morbi's political past and why turmoil engulfed it.
Morbi traditionally is ceramic capital of India with over 1000 ceramic tile factories producing 90% of India's ceramic production.
This ceramic industry is cracking under rising costs with 800 units facing uncertain future due to constant rise in prices of
gas, coal and raw materials.

Morbi's ceramic factories halted production for one month beginning August 2022 in an unprecedented action. Major reasons for this move was due to significant decrease in domestic demand as affordable housing construction fell below sustainability.

#MorbiBridgeCollapse disaster that claimed hundreds of lives is a serious issue of privatised ‘vikas’ model where public infrastructure projects are handed to cronies instead of government taking them up.

Massive gaping hole in PPP model that’s been peddled by none other than
Modi himself (public private partnership) washing hands & responsibility off infrastructure that people pay taxes for.

Disasters end up in appointment of inquiries which never reach any conclusion or even report and quickly forgotten in fast changing politics now.
Zero accountability and punitive action resulting in relentless siphoning off of public coffers lining up pockets of both private sector and ruling political party.

There will be hue and cry for literally 3-4 days and it will be back to usual business leaving families of dead

The FIR in #MorbiBridge collapse mentions no names of contractor who was awarded repairs contract.

Oreva, the contractor is a Rs 800 crore Ajanta clock manufacturing company without any construction experience.
Oreva which started manufacturing Ajanta clocks in #Morbi shifted factory to Shenzen in China laying off over 10,000 workers.

Bizarrely the same company was awarded repairs and maintenance contract of #MorbiBridge 😳
#Morbi collector had refused contract to Oreva apparently but a phone call from Gandhinagar forced contract to be awarded to the company.

This points to political responsibility of #MorbiTragedy

Today urban fascist Modi inaugurated Phase 1 of Ahmedabad Metro which was launched in 2003 during his CMship. In 20 years amidst corruption of over Rs 500 crores, the incomplete project is hastily inaugurated for election gimmicks.

The project won’t complete even by 2025…
The mother of all metro scams towers over 14 other metro projects in India and Modi’s personal favourite and Ahmedabad metro project head appointed was IAS officer Sanjay Gupta who siphoned off 200 crores. Gupta is in prison now but and authorities could only attach 50 crores…
from his assets invested in hotels, land and real estate.

When metro project began, 1884 contracts costing about Rs 584 were given out without tenders or rules. These contracts included supply of steel, cement, sand, concrete, rubber, casting yards for excavation, construction..
