Here’s everything that’s happening in the NFT Worlds ecosystem and why prices are pumping:

1/ NFT Worlds is a web3 gaming project that started off as a free mint in late 2021. They built on top of Minecraft’s infrastructure so they can ship quickly.

2/ By shipping quickly they were able to go to market faster, onboard a large ecosystem of Minecraft developers and access a potential market of over 140 million monthly Minecraft players.

3/ 6 Months ago Microsoft rugged @nftworldsNFT by banning any web3/NFT integrations into Minecraft. This caused the NFT Worlds floor and $WRLD token to tank.

Fast forward to today and the team behind NFT Worlds have built a custom game engine that is free from Microsoft.

4/ The NFT worlds team has been building @tryMetaFab over the last 6 months. Metafab is a suite of open infrastructure tools for web3 game developers to use and build on top of.

5/ Metafab has already been getting big integrations from other web3 gaming projects. They recently announced a partnership with the @Treasure_DAO and $MAGIC ecosystem. An ecosystem comprising of dozens of #web3games and a token with a $400 million fully diluted market cap.

6/ In parallel to building @tryMetaFab, the team has also been working on a new NFT Worlds game engine and game client.

7/ This new game engine is NOT built on top of Microsoft’s Minecraft. The new NFT Worlds does NOT have any dependencies on Minecraft. This allows @nftworldsNFT to operate and grow without fear of another Microsoft rug.

8/ @iamarkdev says the the best analogy to Metafab and NFT Worlds is the relationship between Epic games (which owns @FortniteGame) and Unreal Engine.

9/ Fortnite is Epic Game’s flagship gaming IP. Unreal Engine is their open-source game engine that other 3rd party developers can build on top of.

Metafab will serve as an open source layer for any web3 game to use. NFT Worlds will use @tryMetaFab for their own blockchain needs

10/ The public alpha for the new NFT Worlds game engine/client will be in February 2023. The new engine will be backwards compatible with existing Minecraft servers so Minecraft developers can easily onboard into NFT Worlds.

11/ The aesthetic of the new game engine will be similar to Minecraft. Existing Minecraft players will find the new NFT Worlds experience very familiar to the one their use to.

12/ $WRLD will be the native token across all NFT Worlds game experiences. The $WRLD token will be easy for game developers to integrate into their own games.

13/ A rebrand is also in process, to get away from the term “NFT” and to attract a more mainstream gamer base. The exact nature of the rebrand is still being determined but expect the new brand to be released in the next few months.

14/ @nftworldsNFT aims to onboard the over 140 million monthly Minecraft players into web3 gaming. The team is on the verge of re-launching NFT Worlds without any dependencies on Microsoft. And the community of builders and developers around NFT Worlds is as strong as ever. 🚀
