Yehuda was just 6 years old when he was freed from Theresienstadt concentration camp.
A starved, half dead, six year old boy with absolutely nothing…

He wanted to get the train back to his home in the Netherlands. But the train guard refused to allow him on, because Yehuda didn’t have any money for the ticket.
So he was stuck. A little boy, all alone with nothing…

Yehuda wasn’t charged for the train ride which took him to the concentration camp. That journey was free
But they demanded Yehuda pay to return home from a journey which he never wanted to make…

Eventually Yehuda made it home but his own mother couldn’t even recognise him.
Scarred by life inside and outside the camp, he ended up in a psychiatric hospital. Eventually he overcame his illness….

The Holocaust didn’t just affect those who were killed. It affect the living. It ruined lives and families.

The civilisation which set the scene for these atrocities cannot fully come to terms with it.
Instead they turn their subconscious shame, anger and resentment back onto Jews, and so the cycle of hate continues….

In “civilised” Europe before the Nazis arrived, about 100,000 Jews were killed within three years. And after the Nazis left Jews were also killed.
