#sakuatsu #mdzs | past life regrets prompt Sakusa to action

Sakusa was not amused.

When Atsumu had suggested to talk with someone, who could see their past lives, Sakusa had smiled because he heard Atsumu say, “it’ll be fun,” but he hadn’t actually been listening.
Atsumu however, had taken that smile as a yes.

His crush on Atsumu had backfired, as he enjoyed listening to his voice, although he could never focus on the words spoken, making it easy to agree to things he didn’t necessarily want to agree to.

And so here he was, getting the
detailed rundown of who they used to be, with Atsumu eagerly eating up every syllable.

“There’s flames. Big flames!”

Atsumu gasped loudly.

“And eyes dyed red from blood.” The woman’s face was in close proximity of Atsumu’s. “I bet that’s not your real hair color.”

“You’re
right, it’s not!” Atsumu exclaimed.

The woman leaned back in her seat. “In your past life it was long and black, black as the heavy darkness enclosing your heart.” Her expression softened, “and you’d tie it with a red ribbon.”

“Just like my eyes.”

“Yes, and the only one to
wear the colors black and red was you.”

“Did you hear that,” he turned to face Sakusa, “I was unique even back then.”

One sound was all Sakusa had to offer in response. “Mm.”

“That,” the woman’s attention was now focused on the silent Sakusa, “is exactly how you would respond
in your past life.”

Atsumu’s eyes sparkled as he watched his friend get his past self presented to him. “Soft, subdued colors like the clouds, but your inner conflicts are anything but.”

It wasn’t enough to convince Sakusa as he blankly stared back at the woman. Picking up on
his scepticism, she offered to let him see for himself, and so Sakusa had moved to lying on a couch.

“Close your eyes and listen to my voice,” she began. The words she spoke helped guide Sakusa to an unfamiliar place.

Judging by the way the mass amount of people were dressed,
and what he was wearing, it was clearly not present time. Before he could think much more, the body he had no control over, moved swiftly.

Avoiding swords and other attacks he cleared a path to a figure surrounded by black smoke.

“Wei Wuxian,” he yelled with a strained voice.
“Lan Wangji,” the other man shouted back. Saksua felt a sharp stab to his heart as he watched the man get further away from him.

His body followed without hesitation.

The man, whose name he assumed was Wei Wuxian, never looked back. Why wouldn’t he look back? All Sakusa wanted
was another glance at his eyes, his mesmerising eyes that had captivated him the same way Atsumu’s had.

His hand kept reaching out, wanting to touch, wanting to pull closer and never let go. But Wei Wuxian continued to be out of reach. Sakusa could only see the red ribbon
flailing with the long strands of dark hair, with everything else happening around him being one big blurry picture.

That was until he saw flames in the corner of his eye and his attention was diverted from Wei Wuxian for a split second. When Sakusa refocused, the man was gone.
Panic was spreading through his body as he franticly looked from one end to the other.

It didn’t take him long to spot the man standing at the edge of a cliff. Sakusa’s inner voice was protesting loudly at the scene about to unfold.

He was beyond his limits long ago, but it
didn’t prevent him from hurrying to Wei Wuxian’s side and grabbing his arm.

/No. Don’t./ The two words played on repeat in his head, yet not a sound made it out. As the man’s hand kept slipping out of his, he tightened his grip, but to no avail as Wei Wuxian forcibly snapped his
hand back.

Sakusa watched the man and couldn’t help think his expression was that of relief, as he himself felt an overwhelming sense of regret and sadness.

“Wei Ying!” His voice screamed with all the lung capacity he had, but it couldn’t drown out the sound of his heart
shattering. As he kneeled over the edge, paralysed, he felt a cold line running down his face.

“Omi…?” Atsumu nudged Sakusa gently, trying to wake him up because he had a look of pain on his face while starting to cry.

“M-Miya?” Still in a daze, Sakusa slowly opened his eyes
to a worried Atsumu.

“You just suddenly started crying. Are you okay, Omi?”

“Yeah, I…can we leave now?”

“Sure, time’s up anyway.” Atsumu ended the sentence with his usual bright smile.

As they were leaving, Sakusa went back inside, leaving a dumbfounded Atsumu to wait
outside.

“Yes?” The woman said in tone that was clear he had acted just as she expected.

“Did it,” he was hesitant to finish the question, “did it end there?”

“It was a high cliff, wasn’t it?”

How else could it end idiot, he scolded himself.

“Learn from your past self, don’t
keep your feelings and words hidden.”

Saksua narrowed his eyes, “does she know?” he mumbled.

“Go on now, don’t want to keep your /friend/ waiting.” Another suspicious comment, but it was enough for Sakusa to step back outside to where Atsumu was still waiting.

“I like you,” he
heard himself confess, “I like you a lot, Atsumu.” Sakusa stood still for a moment before he started walking away.

“Hold up, Omi! What about my answer?!” Atsumu did a quick jog to catch up.

“Whatever your answer, if you answer at all, it won’t change the fact that I like you.
And I just wanted you to know that.”

“What exactly did you see in your past life?”

“Just…” he thought about how to explain, “how true it is that we regret the things we don’t do.”
“Well, I like you too, Omi.” Atsumu laughed for no apparent reason. If only he knew how many times I’ve tricked him into hanging out, Atsumu thought to himself as he felt the warmth of Sakusa’s hand grabbing his. It was a firm grip that would never let go.

#sakuatsu | two truths, one lie

Sakusa thought he would be done with stupid icebreaker games when he joined msby. They were professional athletes, not students, so why were they playing this ridiculous game of telling 3 things about yourself, where 1 needs to be a lie, after+
practice.

The confessions and lies were only skin-deep, with favorite foods and movies, with where they went to high school or college, with their volleyball history and so on.

All eyes were now on Sakusa, waiting eagerly for whatever information he was going to share that+
they could discuss, and then make an educated guess on what the lie was.

Sakusa sighed before pointing at one of them “I hate you,” then he pointed at the next one, “and I hate you,” the last one he pointed at was Atsumu, “and I hate you.”

Chaos ensued as they affectionately+
