The way Netflix has been desperately pushing the “small audience x big budget” is starting to annoy me.
For starters, this obvious PR Crisis response strategy is based on a fallacy: A misleading argument which creates a mistaken belief #SaveWarriorNun
The campaign has proven time and time again that Warrior Nun is not a “big budget” show, and s2 numbers as well as the #SaveWarriorNun numbers are prof that the show also does not have a “small audience”
And a similar trend, particularly regarding fandom size and engagement has been brought up by fandoms from several other cancelled Netflix series.
The platform is pushing this speech bc it’s easier than admitting that their core business model is failing #SaveWarriorNun
Most shows released by Netflix have the publicity efforts transferred to the audience while simultaneously are expected to bring as much watched hours (and subscribers) as the shows actually promoted by the platform. #SaveWarriorNun
And saying that a show is unworthy bc it has a “small audience”, completely disregarding the faithfulness, power and drive of such fandom is just proof that Netflix’s business model does not care about its customers, but simply about getting new subscribers #SaveWarriorNun
(Which I could say is the very reason why their business is failing, their founder is quitting and their quarterly numbers are shit)
So Netflix pushing the fallacious notion that they only cancel “big budget x small fandom” shows is just getting absurdly ridiculous at this point. And even more so, are journalists and media outlets repeating this like ignorant parrots #SaveWarriorNunsomagnews.com/fans-are-furio…
