As we approach the release of @DestinyTheGame's #Lightfall expansion I would like to take a moment to speak on an issue that I can see arising. /1

With the release of the expansion, we are expecting to see the yearly seasonal content from #WitchQueen to be sunset in a similar manner to previous years; The issue I see with this ties into the newly introduced weapon crafting system that got released as part of the Witch… /2

…Queen expansion for the game. As of right now, deepsight weapons, which are dismantled to progress towards a weapon's pattern unlock for crafting, can be obtained by engaging in a season's content and activities. /3

One example is with our current season, #Season of the #Seraph, where the #Ikelos and new [Seraph] seasonal weapons can be obtained by completing battleground heists and focusing #Umbrals at the Exo Frame in HELM, just to name a couple of source. /4

My main concern is how will players obtain the #deepsight versions of these weapons to progress the respective weapon pattern unlock? /5

I've mentioned this to my friends a bit, but new players have access to the collections, they can see a majority, if not all, of the collections with content going back to the start of #Destiny 2 Y1 with the Red War. /6

I especially mentioned how it must suck to be a new player and see all of these items, namely the weapons due to this thread topic, in the collections thinking how cool it'd be to go after a specific item only to learn that its either been sunset and is unobtainable or is… /7

…not sunset **but** is unavailable to be obtained due to it no longer being in a loot pool as a drop. I can see weapon crafting going this way (or at least in a similar manner) if the #deepsight drops for seasonal weapons are not addressed by @Bungie. /8

Are players who join, or come back to the game, in #Lightfall going to be locked out from crafting a season's weapons because they weren't there at the time or didn't participate enough during a season to get all of the #deepsight drops? /9

To be more specific, we can use the two popular SMGs of the Calus Mini Tool and the Ikelos SMG 1.0.3 that were released alongside #Haunted and #Seraph respectively; Once these two seasons are sunset due to #Lightfall's release, are those who didn't unlock… /10

…the pattern going be locked out from ever completing it and as a result being unable to craft those weapons? /11

@Bungie released a blog post about #legacy #focusing (bungie.net/7/en/News/arti…) earlier last week on the 25th which mentioned how in-game economy changes for weapon focusing would be changing and how a selection of weapons from each of the in-game core activities would be… /12

…returning to be focused. @Bungie didn't mention anything in that post for seasonal weapons, but they did mention that #Umbrals would be replaced with seasonal engrams. /13

Hopefully we could get some clarification, or at least additional details, on these before the release of #Lightfall because they could work the #deepsights into that system somehow to prevent #FOMO and overall allow players to have a catch-up mechanic to where they can… /14

…progress their respective weapon patterns so that they *could* craft those weapons; They could probably even bring back older seasonal content from seasons such as #Undying and #Dawn. /15

With the #deepsight system being tied into the seasonal engrams, one thing that they could also do, which is something worth making its own topic for, is to remove all of the seasonal weapons from #Dares of #Eternity, more specifically the Worthy+… /16

…weapons (maybe armor too?) up to Lost, and add them into the legacy focusing under their own respective seasonal engrams. /17

This would not only free up and de-clutter the #Dare's loot pool, but it would also give them the opportunity to give it its own unique set of loot rather than being a clusterfuck of open-world, core-activity, and seasonal gear from years past. /18

There's just a lot of things that I'd like to see done and @Bungie simply throwing that #Umbrals would be replaced with "Seasonal Engrams" really made me think of the possibilities that could be done with such a system in place. /19
