I have been planning to write a book called How to Speak Neurotypical, a Guide for #Neurodivergent Folx. My special interest is the human brain, and all that stems from it, brain science and nerves to sociology, language, and culture. I want to explain NT behavior to (1/5)
#Neurodivergent peeps, such as the concepts of emotional logic, social contracts, and social currency. Many of us are confused because NT behavior makes no sense. However, when seen as a second language and culture, NT behavior can be explained using these three concepts. (2/5)
At least IMO anyway. Why NTs use emotional logic over rational logic, use social currency instead of truth or reality to make decisions and judge situations, and what the unspoken social contracts of the USA are, such as lying being the social contract of greeting. (3/5)
You know what I mean. "Hi, how are you?" "I'm fine". This is an unspoken social contract. The greeting requires you to say I'm fine, even if you feel like shit. And then NT's punish for other forms of lying, which confuses NDs because that's ILLOGICAL. (4/5)
It's social contracts and emotional logic at work, as compared to the reality of a situation and being honest with people. I have so many theories. But anyway, my Fiance says I should make this a TV show instead of a guidebook, and write about the life of ND in a NT world (5/5)
