Leicester chair Khun Top has relieved the club of debts to parent company King Power totaling over £194m.
🗣️Top: “Maintaining long-term stability is vital for sustainable growth... We want to make sure we continue on that path from the strongest, most secure financial footing."
An #LCFC statement adds: "[The] conversion into equity serves to strengthen the Club’s balance sheet, reduce its interest costs, and provide further evidence of King Power International’s commitment to supporting the Club’s long-term sustainability...
"These loans have been provided by KPI to the Club over the last four years to fund the construction of the Club’s world-class new training ground at Seagrave and to continue to support the Club’s investments into its squad and Women’s football during the COVID-19 pandemic."
It's the second time King Power International have done this. Back in 2013 a £103m debt-to-equity transfer also took place.

🗣 Benfica president Rui Costa on Enzo Fernandez’s #CFC move. “I proposed to Chelsea that he stay until the summer for a lower sale value. The player, even so, did not want to continue at Benfica. And this is where everything changed…
"I had the hope that Enzo would want to fight for the championship title with us. When I realised that he didn't want to, I also didn't want him to wear the Benfica shirt again…
"From the moment Enzo realised he had the value of the clause, [he] was uncompromising. We insisted, but the player did not even show openness to continue at Benfica…
🚨 Chelsea confirm Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley have now taken up roles as co-sporting directors. “They oversee the entire sporting team, comprising talent, scouting, recruitment and data.”
Winstanley joined in November. Stewart officially starts next week from Monaco, although did have influence from afar in January.
Chelsea add: “The team includes technical director, Christopher Vivell, focusing on football globally, Joe Shields, Kyle Macaulay and Jim Fraser leading on talent management and recruitment, and Matthew Hallam leading on data and analysis…
🗣 LaLiga president Javier Tebas on #CFC spending: “The British market is a doped market. You can see it clearly in this winter market where Chelsea have made almost half of the signings in the Premier League…
“Following the history of the last few seasons, we have done some work on LaLiga because [the Premier League] has lost billions of pounds in the last few years. And this is financed with contributions from the patrons, in this case large American investors who finance at a loss…
“This does not happen in the Spanish league and neither does it happen in the German league. In our control of economic sustainability we do not allow contributions to cover losses in these barbaric amounts that are occurring, and that is what makes the difference in the market…
Bit more PSG's failed loan deal for Hakim Ziyech. Told by Tuesday lunch an agreement was close, although no clarity over a buy option. It would later be decided just a straight loan was possible. Ziyech was then waiting in PSG's offices as time began to run out.
Ziyech was really desperate for the move, even offering to contribute financially to get it done. But a series of paperwork mix ups led to documentation being sent too late. And there was always low confidence the LFP appeal would be successful.
PSG are extremely disappointed. There was complete disbelief last night in Paris. Chelsea were focused on getting Enzo Fernandez done, and are yet to comment on Ziyech's failed move from their perspective. But PSG sources referring to the situation as "a complete and utter joke."
Chelsea confirm World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez has joined from Benfica for a British-record £107m.
Deal struck around an hour before the window shut with Behdad Eghbali leading negotiations and Fernandez's desire to move key as well.🇦🇷
The fee surpasses the £100m Manchester City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish.
It was a dramatic night with the deal sheet going in before 11pm and, following a one-hour extension, all paperwork completed with around 15 minutes to spare.
Fernandez always wanted the move. This was made clear in the hours leading up to deal, but also in early January when Chelsea first tried. A deal until summer 2031 had already been agreed prior to the club-to-club agreement.
🚨 Chelsea have an agreement to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez in a British-record transfer following a WILD 48-hours of talks.🚨
Series of long meetings involving #CFC's owners finally provoked a breakthrough in a deal worth around £105m.🇦🇷
As reported, Chelsea were confident early on Monday that an installment-based package could be reached and Fernandez did his part to push for the move.
But by Deadline Day a deal back was in the balance until really late as Rui Costa stood firm. #CFC just kept pushing, though.
The deal still needs to have all formalities, including paperwork and medicals. But there is a full agreement in place. Now a mad dash to get everything done before the deadline.
