somebody burnt the coat pocket of hajime's suit, bokuto tried the ring on and it got stuck on his finger, osamu's running late because the fridge broke so he had to remake
every food on the menu for the day, shoyo forgot the something borrowed at home, and keiji found out the venue got double booked so they had to find another place.
the grooms have contemplated if they should push through with the occasion at all.
"i paid for this place, and this is what happens?!" tooru's outburst was heard in the corridor where a party that was not theirs was taking place.
"don't worry, we'll find something." atsumu tried to console his friend, to no avail.
"something? IN AN HOUR?"
everybody could see the veins on tooru's temple about to pop and then disappear when hajime put an arm over his shoulder.
"hey, you're scaring everybody shittykawa. come on, instead of screaming, let's find a solution."
"sorry tsum-tsum, i know you went crazy organizing everything then i ruined it with this stupid ring on my finger."
atsumu would've been mad if not for the slight tinge on keiji's cheeks seeing koutarou wearing the ring.
looks like someone's going to get married next.
"its okay, bokkun. just please, keep tryin' ta get it off, use a thread or soap or whatever." atsumu smiled, but kiyoomi could see that it was a discouraged one.
he did work hard for this day to be perfect.
"you okay, atsumu?" kiyoomi whispered when atsumu sat down beside him.
atsumu took a big swing of breath, and rested his head on kiyoomi's shoulders.
"i'm just tired, omi. how about ya? can't wait to go home?" kiyoomi placed a soft kiss on atsumu's head before speaking.
"to be honest, yeah. i'd rather be at home with you. it's a long morning."
atsumu smiled a little and mumbled, "yeah, that sounds perfect right now."
"tell you what," kiyoomi suddenly spoke, "if nothing will progress in the next 10 minutes, let's pack up and leave."
atsumu lifted his head in shock at kiyoomi's suggestion.
"omi!"
"only if you want, atsumu."
atsumu squinted his eyes for a little, pretending to think.
"let's leave by the back, and get takeout on the way home."
"that's my miya." kiyoomi smiled and wrapped his arms on atsumu's waist.
luckily though, shoyo came running from outdoors, screaming at everybody.
"WE GOT A PLACE! WE GOT A PLACE!" by the time shoyo was in front of tooru, he had his hands on his knees, crouching down, breathless.
tooru stood up in his seat and yelled.
"WHERE? LET'S GO! OH BUT THE FOOD!"
"osamu's there already. arranging things. we're gonna have to have one place for the ceremony and the party, is everybody okay with that?"
tooru didn't let anybody respond.
"yes! everybody is!--
-this wedding is happening!"
atsumu and kiyoomi looked at each other. slight dismay on their eyes.
"can't sneak out then. let's go omi."
20 minutes later, everybody found themselves in a volleyball court.
"really?" tooru asked the moment he stepped foot on the squeaky floors,
but stopped when he saw the place.
"oh…this is beautiful." he mumbled.
what once was the net, was now an elegant black and white backdrop, golden wedding chairs littered everywhere, and osamu chatting with today's officiant.
an arch made of tree branches stood in the middle,
decorated with daisies, sunlight still shining from the huge, open windows of the court.
being volleyball players, looking around this place made sense to the husbands to be.
"alright! move! move! wedding starts in 10 minutes!" tooru screamed at the top of his lungs.
atsumu glanced at kiyoomi. he held his hand and let the place sink in on their eyes for a while. and then, atsumu ran with him to the closest room to change, otherwise they'd receive an earful.
by the time everybody was in their places, every mishap earlier was finally solved.
hajime found a suit to wear, koutarou got the ring off thanks to one forceful pull from ushijima, shoyo hauled ass back to his home and brought back the brooch that was to be the something borrowed and well, the venue was already perfect.
thus the wedding commenced.

"i had a whole speech prepared for today when everything was still on plan. but when did everything between you and me exactly go according to one?
--i never planned staying in touch with you when we met. i thought you were such an annoying idiot, but… suddenly i couldn't get enough of your annoying ass. nothing went right today but i knew everything would be fine
because life has always had a way to make things perfect despite it all when i'm with you. and i can't wait 'til this is over so i can go home and be your husband. finally. forever. i love you, miya atsumu."
in the audience, kiyoomi could hear his cousin sniff. such a drama queen. but his eyes shined with tears too.
so did atsumu's.
"i didn't have anything prepared. well, i did, but i threw that away when ya said we leave everybody behind if we somehow didn't pull it off today."
the loudest gasp was tooru's.
"oh calm down, we were able to pull it off, didn't we? anyway," atsumu turned to look at his lovely groom again.
"everything was a mess. everything i've organized went ta shit but..but ya were calm and i was supposed to be mad at ya because i poured my heart and soul for this but when ya said all ya want was to be at home and with me, i realized it's all i wanted too.--
--i thought a grand wedding would be perfect. that it was everything i wanted but that was wrong. i'd marry ya anywhere, omi. because at the end of the day, i get to go home with you. you are my home. i love you."
atsumu smiled his widest, looking at kiyoomi. his heart full.
"do you, miya atsumu, take sakusa kiyoomi as your lawfully wedded husband?"
"i do, of course." atsumu leaned in a little which surprised kiyoomi and the officiant.
then he whispered, "i wouldn't want anyone else."
kiyoomi smiled, teeth on display, like a little kid lost finally founding home.
"i would never want anyone else too."
the officiant sighed and shook his head at the two.
"guess i didn't have to ask. so now i pronounce you, husband and husband. congratulations."
everybody's cheers echoed in the court as the husbands leaned in to kiss softly.
there in the middle, the exact same place where atsumu and kiyoomi first met.
everything was perfect.
// so i may have had a momentary lapse of self-doubt for this one but no! miya atsumu and miya kiyoomi are very very important!!!
they go home and when they open their door, atsumu suddenly (and with a little struggle) carries kiyoomi bridal style and then he whispers "welcome home, miya kiyoomi."
and kiyoomi smiles softly and kisses atsumu and says "good to be home, husband."

the sky was tar-black and large gray clouds were moving towards the window, up to the roof,
until it was out of sight.
tree branches fighting against gusts of wind that tend to break wood, relentless tapping on the window of pitter-patter, and puddles forming by the balcony, an iridescent pool of colors emanating from it.
“miya, why are we in a university all the way in tokyo?”
"because ya hafta see omi play."
"omi? oh.. you meant sakusa? but atsumu, we've already watched him play in many recordings,
it's why we're going to try and recruit him when he graduates." meian tried to explain, still grumpy about getting dragged to tokyo on their day-off.
"but its different when ya see it in action. trust me cap, it'll be worth it."

"and this year's collegiate mvp is none other than sakusa kiyoomi!"
to say atsumu was right would be digging meian's own grave but, it was true. seeing sakusa kiyoomi play live was better than the recordings they've seen before.
“remind me again, why we’re doing this?” his right hand on atsumu’s waist, and the other intertwining with atsumu’s right hand, kiyoomi didn’t make any effort to move.
“because it’s yer sister’s wedding, and she's going ta kill me if ya don't dance.” atsumu whispered, dragging kiyoomi’s body to sway like he does.
“also because they kind of pushed us in the middle, and we don’t want to be a killjoy, omi.”
“fine.” kiyoomi rolled his eyes and began to stiffly move his hips.
he heard komori whistle at his movement and kiyoomi swears he’s going to kill him after.
“can ya stop lookin’ like ya hate the world? don’t ya want to see yer boyfriend’s dance moves?"
