Let's step back from your raging lack of actual substantive, consistent reasons for denying someone the right to an abortion for a sec.
Let's look at the manner in which you'd have to go about implementing your restrictions/bans:
1/
Be honest: you're all in the same group of the "they're coming for you, they want to take your...., they're trying to implant the 5g trackers in your..." camps. We know it. Big on privacy, aren't ya?
Ok, let's start at the end first:
2/
Somehow, you're in the room right when an abortion is about to take place. How'd you get there?
You say, "well, we heard that the mother's life may be in danger, so we're here to see to what degree..."
Ok. How'd you get that information?
3/
"Well, we were in one of the appointments..."
Ok. How'd you get in there? What if you're not invited?
"We got access to the medical files..."
Seeing the problem yet?
Here's the thing:
4/
There isn't any way - read that again, ANY WAY - for you to even begin to involve yourself in the process
in order to have the slightest bit of information to do ANYTHING related to a pregnancy without
VIOLATING THEIR MEDICAL PRIVACY.
5/
Y'all need to get this through your heads:
If the means by which you have to enforce your desired ends necessarily involves the total - YES, TOTAL - elimination of medical privacy, it's time you accept that YOU are the evil you've been claiming you're afraid of.
6/
Spouses do not have HIPAA rights. One has to specifically allow a spouse/partner access.
They'll stop granting it.
You won't be invited to doctor's appointments. You won't be told of the results.
Medical privacy.
7/
Pregnancy tests will be taken in private. If they fear you'll bust down the bathroom door, they'll go elsewhere. You will never get to know.
If they get nauseous in the morning, you may suspect they're pregnant. You won't get to know. They won't tell you.
Medical privacy.
8/
If you rant and bitch and rage how they won't tell you, guess what: you can be ASSURED they will not want to parent with you. You will increase abortions, kiddo.
They'll go to a doctor, get prescribed a pill, take a pill and expel the contents of their uterus.
In private.
9/
If there is ANY societal stigma, if there is ANY pressure, if there are ANY barriers to the free choice as to going through a pregnancy
AND medical privacy still exists
1) abortions will ROCKET upwards and 2) you'll NEVER KNOW
10/
So, let's all be honest, ok?
If you are for ANY abortion restrictions, limits, bans, etc. - yes, even if you fence-sitters that think you're super-progressive bc you'll "allow" it for the mother's life, e.g. - you are for the ELIMINATION OF MEDICAL PRIVACY.
11/
There's no way around it. Don't just say "well, that's regrettable, but..."
It wasn't "regrettable, but..." when you jokers wouldn't WEAR A SIMPLE MASK, was it?
My god, you lost your shit at your "loss of freedom" during a communicable outbreak, FFS
12/
"Why wouldn’t these just be standing orders for any and all sexually active women"
You'd literally need the right to MONITOR women, constantly. Do you get that? Do you THINK what your ideas mean?
13/
EVEN IF all of your bluster about how someone is "murdering a child!!" were granted accurate, the means by which you'd need to prove and enforce it necessarily eliminates medical privacy.
Read that again.
Your belief necessarily eliminates medical privacy.
14/
And that should tell you something.
You love to talk about "by your logic...," so let's actually talk it.
How can you start with what is believed to be "right/moral," etc., and have it land you at the elimination of a FUNDAMENTAL right?
It can't.
15/
LOGICALLY, that means you have a flawed premise. What you're starting with is NOT right or moral, and if you'd listen to pro-choice arguments, you'd understand that. #prochoice PRESERVES privacy. In fact, it begins with it.
"If medical privacy is a right, then..."
16/
The anti-choice argument MUST, by its very definition, first DISCARD medical privacy. And guess what:
That's why you're ALL TRANSPHOBES, too.
"But your genitalia is....so now you can't...."
Not your business.
I'll say it again:
17/
Unless you have personally seen someone's genitalia AND their medical records, you ONLY KNOW the gender identity they've crafted/presented to you.
Sleep well!
But I digress...
If you believe in medical privacy, you have NO access to any of the information for your stance.
18/
You literally cannot. even. know. that a pregnancy exists.
Read that again.
You have NO RIGHT to even know that someone is pregnant.
None.
You have no ability to "check on that baby" without violating someone's bodily autonomy.
19/
Imagine a toddler is being abused and someone is sent to "check on" that child. You don't have to touch the parents. Their bodily autonomy and medical privacy can be 100% preserved while you do:
Forced birthers will try to draw a line where a sperm isn't a baby (and thus, can't be subject to any control, of course), but a fertilized egg absolutely is, and thus, gets to be controlled by others.
Wrong.
Words have meanings.
1/
Butter is not a cake. Milk is not a cake. Eggs are not a cake.
Butter + milks + eggs is STILL not a cake.
It needs heat. Heat makes chemical reactions. Those reactions change the properties of the ingredients.
2/
You can't leave the mixed ingredients in a bowl and have it eventually become a cake.
Likewise, a sperm isn't a baby. An ovum isn't a baby. A fertilized egg isn't a baby. An embryo can't sit there and become a baby.
If anyone would like to point out where this comparison/example fails, let me know.
I will use cis terms just for brevity's sake, but many inclusive scenarios are just as accurate.
A woman invites a man on a date. She invites him back to her place.
1/
She initiates sex. She absolutely wants to have sex. The man wants it, too. He accepts and consents back. This is consensual sex.
There is no aggression. There are no unwanted actions. It is an intimate, caring situation. She is enjoying it.
And then change her mind.
2/
Consensual sex requires the active consent of both parties. Thus, the withdraw of consent by ONE makes it nonconsensual. There is no longer two-way consent. It is instantly nonconsensual sex. It is instantly, technically, rape now.
3/
