This month we’re going national!

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Scottish Land Reform act* we are encouraging people to get out and celebrate the wonder of the winter night, and to call for a greater @Right_2Roam in England

It’s a way for all of us to demonstrate - wherever we are - our determination for wider opportunities of access across our national parks - not only camping, but to extend our current right to roam beyond the current mere 8%.

🦉Why not wake early to witness the early-bird dawn chorus; go for a night walk; or to take to the hills or the greenbelt to watch the first stars emerge.

February is also a great time of year to stargaze.

We want to encourage a decentralised set of initiatives, demonstrating that time spent in nature is crucially important – that we should be extending, not diminishing our rights of access in this country.

*The Scottish Land Reform Act came into place in 2003 and set in motion a framework of public access rights to most land and inland water.

These rights are based on responsible access, with obligations both on public and landowners.
