2: Cherokee Nation is the largest tribe in the United States and joined other tribal leaders in D.C. supporting the Native Farm Bill Coalition (@NativeFarmBill) to advance the policy priorities of Native American producers in the upcoming Farm Bill through a strong, united voice.

4: “We’d like to see more products purchased from local producers ... and used in programs such as the USDA-funded Food Distribution Centers for low-income Native families. We’d also like to encourage the USDA to include more traditional foods ...” — Chief @ChuckHoskin_Jr
5: The Cherokee Nation would also like the #FarmBill to allow tribes to administer their own SNAP programs and expand and provide more funding resources to the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program authorized by the American Rescue Plan.
6: The Cherokee Nation also hopes to see the creation of a 15% tribal set aside in the USDA Reconnect Broadband Program, Distance Learning, and Telemedicine Grant Program to enhance broadband access.
