Decided to do a thread on East Palestine, Ohio. The Massive environmental disaster that happened several days ago. Whole town evacuated. Caused by poor maintenance, Norfolk South managing to get the government to repeal braking laws, and loosen hazardous material regulations. 
An axle apparently broke and could be seen burning 20 miles outside of East Palestine, leading to a spill and "controlled burn" of insane amounts of vinyl chloride, toxic, carcinogenic, and turns imto hydrochloric acid in the atmosphere when burned.
The entire town was evacuated, but people have since been brought back with assurances that it is safe, though ultimately, they have noted that their chickens and local wildlife have started dying.

Apparently I was wrong, its alkaline. Someone mentioned that it felt oily. Because the train was carrying multiple chemicals, and its not been disclosed what, probably safer to avoid rain if possible for at least several days. 🤷

Actual pictures of the epa spill sheet for ease of sharing. Several dangerous chemicals observed draining into storm drains. Apparently Norfolk Southern buried contaminated soil to place down new rail for speed of returning to services. #ChemicalDisaster
