I want to thank every single person who speaks out about psychiatric harm and the damage the drugs can do.
It's going to take all of us to change things but I can see it slowly happening now.
It's been unbelievable to watch. #MentalHealthMatters @madinamerica2 @kevinpmiller
I owned it business when I became literally disabled by the psychiatric drugs.
The well meaning professionals told me I was mental ill.
My life as I knew it changed forever.
Devalued and poor I was treated like crap.
That's when I made the connection to how they had treated my disabled siblings in the past. They were devalued by society, not allowed to participate. They put them in institutions and restraints. Eventually killing them. Protected to death by the state. #DisabledLivesMatter
This can happen to you
Or your family.
They can take your children over your disability.
They can destroy your life over a disability.
It's legal and written into our state legislation.
Restraints. Forced treatment, institutionalization,
removing your child due to disability and no reunification.
No right to a jury trial in those cases.
Yet no one cares, Until it happens to you.
Sub standard wages, some people with disabilities are making cents on the dollar, #bottomdollars working in sheltered workshops, like Goodwill using antiquated 14 (c) certificates from the 30s. #DisabledLivesMatter
It has taken me over 20 years of investigating this subject matter to figure it out.
It's a complex system with little accountability from the state or transparency.
There are waiting list for waivers to keep people in the community and waiting lists for people to come back to their communities from institutions.
There were waiting lists to get into the institutions in the past.

SIGNIFICANCE
Cadentown was one of approximately twenty-five African-American hamlets formed in Fayette County,
Kentucky, after the Civil War. Former slaves purchased lots from developers such as Owen Caden to create their own communities. These rural hamlets were situated near the large farms on which many of the residents labored. Cadentown's development began in 1867, and by the
late 1870s every lot in the community had been sold. Two churches were soon organized in Cadentown.
Julius Rosenwald, who became president of Sears Roebuck and Company in 1909, organized the philanthropic Julius Rosenwald Fund. This organization donated matching funds for the
From 2016
As Chair of the PAIMI Advisory Council and a voice for individuals who have a mental health diagnosis and other disabilities, a grave concern I have is the proposed forced treatment legislation, or Assisted Outpatient Treatment Orders. The PAIMI Advisory Council
feels this legislation focuses on a small group of individuals yet casts a wide net over the many individuals who have a mental health diagnosis, may not be complying with treatment, yet do not pose a threat to others. One of the components of KRS 202A already addresses
outpatient treatment orders, however, it is an underutilized component of KRS 202A. Engaging an individual treatment, wrapping that individuals with strong community supports and services is what is needed, not more laws that restrict the rights of many Kentuckians who have a
That is why I fight. πͺ
The nurse has to live with it. "The restrainers"...
It's sickening people do it for a living.
I think it might have been a mercy killing.
We'll never know.
We need statistics on. Death by restraint @GovAndyBeshear
Brother survived restrained at the asylum but died by restraints I'm a medical setting.
He went in for knee surgery. Restraints 4 Tube feeding, left him alone, he choked on his own vomit. He was coming home the next day. You don't expect it @
Children's Hospital Cincinnati
It always bothered me about those left behind at the institutions.
They have no voice.
Only by the grace of God was brother able to cone back home.
I hate institutions.
I hate the state of Kentucky for killing my sister, destroying our family instead of providing services.
