NOT NEWS RELATED: can we talk about the end of Pretty in Pink for a second? Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite movies. I’m a huge John Hughes Fan. But the end of Pretty in Pink has never made sense to me. 1/

First of all, Blane lied to her face and told her he asked someone else to prom a month earlier and forgot, but the real reason is because he was getting shit from his rich friend for dating a girl 1) from the wrong side of the tracks and 2) that he wanted for himself. 2/

So Andy was right when she said “Just tell me the truth. You’re afraid your god damned rich friends won’t approve.” He dodged her calls and totally ghosted her. But then they run into each other at prom. They both decide to suck it up and go alone. 3/

THREAD: RESEARCH FIRM: so this is major news and I have to thread about it. Trump paid a research firm a ton of money to find election fraud and they found none. The firm briefed Meadows and Trump on their findings sometime in December 2020. 1/ washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/…

We’ve known for a while that all kinds of people told trump he lost, including Barr, Stepien, Cannon, Hirschmann, Ivanka, and more. But now we have Donald hiding the findings of a paid research firm. That could be the evidence Judge Carter refers to here: 2/

And Hutchinson testified she heard trump tell meadows on December 11 “This is embarrassing. I don’t want people to know we lost.” Could he have been referencing the research firm’s findings? 3/

This is true. And we have SEEN it in recent years. Bill Barr wanted to make sure no one could prosecute trump for the Mueller obstruction. So he had the PADAG and OLC write a memo declining to prosecute stating trump didn’t actually obstruct Justice. 1/

This is the unitary executive theory that a president is above the law because he IS the law. It’s what Barr wrote in his 18 page op-ed that was basically an application for the job of attorney general. 2.

Barr wrote the obstruction Mueller prosecution declination memo and tried to hide it from FOIA using deliberative process privilege. Garland refused to appeal to keep it secret and we saw the memo. The memo one reason garland couldn’t charge obstruction. 3/

Can’t help but wonder if the Kremlin/MBS has Epstein dirt on Elon. I mean, we all know the Epstein ring was an op to get dirt on the powerful, right? His hedge fund sure did take in a lot of money for having no experience managing money. Same with Kushner’s come to think of it 1/

It would explain why Elon bid for Ukraine forces satellite comms and then prevented them from being used for drones. It would explain why he bought twitter and is dismantling it. It would explain the one-sided, cherry-picked “twitter files.” 2/

It would explain the meeting with handlers and Kush at the World Cup and then stepping own as CEO the next day. I wonder if Kushner is the new Epstein dirt bagman. Is that why MBS gave him $2B to “manage” against the recommendation of the Saudi bank? 3/

Somewhere along the way, someone convinced a good amount of people that the biggest investigation in American history should take fewer than two years, so now when indictments happen, they won’t be happy about it. I wonder who convinced them of that? 1/

Most experts have been saying since the beginning it would be around spring of 2023. Yet people are still mad. Fani Willis hasn’t indicted. Nor has ANY state prosecutor for that matter, yet everyone’s focus is on one man. One agency. Why is that? Who want us to hate the DoJ? 2/

Is there anyone you can think of with the means and motive to make us hate our top cop and dismantle our institutions? Is there any reason you can think of that anyone would want us to NOT defend our institutions? Anyone you know that would love for us to just HATE Garland? 3/
