But in tests, he has proved his worth and easily has been the best batter of the side since 2019. Pujara and kohli continue to be inconsistent at home and slowly turning out to be unreliable and it's not a form issue anymore.

Sky in tests looked like he doesn't belong here. Just 17 balls sample size but still, not picking gill over him even for 1 off match is very weird. Even in absence of attacking pant. Hope TM rectifies mistake by replacing shreyas or gill with him.
KSB didn't look confident enough in 1st innings behind the stumps. Maybe nerves. But not a bad debut tbh. After realising how axar is against off spin generally, this was a blinder of an innings. Just kept the basics right and it helped.

Looked better than warner and khwaja in these conditions and form. Ash jaddu are cheat code in these conditions. Can't imagine a more lethal combo in particular conditions who contribute with both bat and ball and eventually jadeja and axar after 168/5 ensured that

We saw what cummins was able to do with 2nd new ball. Cummins and boland picking up 2 quick wickets with vulnerable pujara and kohli by day 1 end would have been a different story maybe.

Not selecting head in good form and going only with 4 bowlers were shocker of decisions from Australia. Renshaw bowls, yes but they needed more of a spin bowling all rounder than a batting ar in their side. Many options there, hope there are changes on their side next game.
