What is Handshake?

Handshake is a blockchain-powered decentralized registry of top-level domains (TLDs) for DNS. Handshake allows free and fair domain registry market, which means that projects like Stargaze can issue second-level domains on Handshake.

Second-level domains are website addresses like stargaze.zone, twitter.com, etc.
So if you own a Stargaze Name, it also means you own such website address (.stars), and can use it to host any type of site.

That site can be anything: a blog, e-commerce, or NFT related, using any framework and web development tools you prefer.
It will be available when the user enters "yoursite.stars" in their address bar.

To access handshake domains you/users have to install Fingertip - impervious.com/fingertip. Fingertip is a software that opens world of handshake domains to you.

For .stars domains, we hosted it in .stargaze.name gateway - you can just replace ".stars" with .stargaze.name and access your Stargaze Names website from web2 browsers.
For example, you can access the site hosted on codes.stars from codes.stargaze.name.
