HAPPENING SOON: The Surface Transportation Board is holding a public hearing to examine how poor freight rail service is affecting the agriculture and energy supply chain. Officials from @USDOT, @USDA & @FMC_gov will testify.

Tune in at 9:30am EST: youtube.com/channel/UCgd2F…
@USDOT @USDA @FMC_gov 🔥Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Bronaugh: "@USDA encourages the Board to clarify railroads' common carrier obligation. Without transparent guidelines from the Board... the task of judging whether service is adequate passes exclusively to the railroads, which is unacceptable."
@USDOT @USDA @FMC_gov NGFA President/CEO @MikeSeyfert: "Exactly what is meant by the common carrier obligation has long been undefined. The service issues highlighted by @NGFA members and others testifying today and tomorrow indicate the time has come to put real meaning in that definition."
