2/many have urged authorities in NW Syria to play along this political game and accept crumbs coming from Damascus in order to remove pretexts Moscow may use at the UNSC. While that is understandable politically (and they’ve been doing it), there is no humanitarian reason for it.
3/it’s unclear if #WFP chief lacks institutional memory, understanding of the conflict,or empathy?NWS’s 4 million residents have been target of a decade of brutal regime onslaughts.They rightfully don’t buy into the idea that more regime control over aid is a good-faith solution.
