I witnessed the outrage against #Sadhguru's take on #MahaShivratri and this is what I feel is going wrong.
A 🧶
1. Hindus need to realise the difference between Abrahamic faiths and Sanatan, and find out the reason for the decline of Sanatan. It all comes down to Sanatan's failure to propagate.
2. While Islam propagated using force and later victim hood, Christianity used force and greed to proselyte massively. Sanatan on the other hand played by ideals and watched itself being gobbled up by the base human needs.
3. Hindus need to remember that we are the last citadel of non-abrahamic faiths and now is not the time for infighting and defensive posturing.
4. This is where the likes of Sadhguru, ISKCON and Sri Sri come in. They have used their wisdom to present/sell the spiritual aspects of Hinduism to a wider audience.
5. By dissociation of Mahashivratri from religious lines, they open the door for others to enter the fold and experience the richness of Sanatan.
6. Once they get a feel of the beauty of Sanatan, it becomes easier for them to embrace the other aspects of the Sanatan way of life.
7. The Sanatan way is the way of acceptance. The war is always the last resort of our gods as evident from epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat.
8. So, instead of attacking Sadhguru and presenting a non accepting stance, we must see how best to use the fan following of these Dharmgurus, to show the world the peace, love and feeling of Vasudhaiv kutumbkam that Sanatan has to offer.
9. We have shrunk to one piece of land because we refused to proselyte like the Abrahamic faiths did, yet we fight amongst ourselves to show who knows more about scriptures while our numbers dwindle each day at price of a sack of rice.
So, what should our approach be? Are we going to keep fighting and keep losing this dharmyuddh? It is for each one of us to think and decide. End of 🧶
