"Republicans, however, say their concerns about wokeism stem from their belief that liberals are trying to use government to impose their values, in the process reducing people and issues to crude identity politics."
This article should be understood as the first of many attacks to come on Ron DeSantis by insinuating that his reputation as an anti-woke crusader is made up because wokeness is made up. The only problem is that the article itself gives plenty of examples of the phenomenon.
If you think men can become pregnant or that being punctual is a manifestation of "whiteness," congratulations, you're woke.
"'The current Trump is not the Trump that I voted for,' said Nancy, 69, from Iowa. 'I feel like he has shown some things, qualities and non-qualities, whatever, that I don't care for now.'"
"Most stood by their past support for the onetime undisputed Republican leader. The future was a different issue, with most saying they would vote for someone else in the GOP primary. Half of the group said they would vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis." washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/…
Trump's grip has unquestionably loosened and GOP voters are willing to make a change. It'll be up to one of his potential challengers to convince them he's the better choice. Making it a referendum on Trump is probably the best strategy for them and worst for Trump.
OK, lawyers, what charges can they threaten the mom with to compel a guilty plea from the son? I imagine they can gin something up that's got some serious jailtime involved. Gotta be some aiding and abetting, obstruction, accessory after the fact, and more.
Good luck convincing anyone with an open mind that the guy who had someone dressing up as the Grim Reaper to protest his COVID policies was pro-lockdown. esquire.com/news-politics/…
Trump 2016 had the instincts to avoid such a risible and implausible line of attack. Especially when it's one that can so obviously be turned against him.
I wonder what the polling threshold will be. Larry Hogan better hope it's "having name listed on questionnaire," otherwise he's going to be in trouble. Same with Asa Hutchinson, Liz Cheney, and Chris Sununu.
Thresholds for the Democrats' first two debates in 2019 were a minimum of 1 percent in three separate national or early state polls from January 1 to two weeks before the debate, or donations from 65,000 people in 20 states, with at least 200 per state. abcnews.go.com/Politics/democ…
The above requirements were for the July and August debates. For the next two in September and October, they were 2 percent in four national or state polls between 6/28 and 8/28, AND 130,000 donations from 400 people in 20 states. apnews.com/article/ec81a4…
Was checking Fandango per usual, and I noticed my AMC is showing "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" this week. No idea why, but I'll definitely go see it.
Also scanned ahead and saw this listed for the beginning of March: "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Swordsmith Village." I'm guessing that's a movie version of the new season of "Demon Slayer." So I have a couple of weeks to see the second season. Good to know.
