We're starting Day 23 of the #MurdaughTrial with pretty much confirmation that #AlexMurdaugh will take the stand. Dick is asking the Judge again about him not being asked about the financial crimes.
Dick says it will take another week for #AlexMurdaugh to testify with all of their objections if the State is allowed to ask about the financial crimes. #MurdaughTrial
They have one short witness before #AlexMurdaugh takes the stand. #MurdaughTrial
Judge is advising #AlexMurdaugh of his rights. #MurdaughTrial
#AlexMurdaugh has confirmed in front of Judge Newman that he wants to and he WILL testify. #MurdaughTrial
First witness today before we hear from the man accused of these murders himself is Nolan Tuten. #MurdaughTrial
Nolan is Paul's friend & Nathan's brother. Nathan testified for the State. #MurdaughTrial
Paul & Alex had a hood relationship. He was patient with Paul. #MurdaughTrial
He is familiar with Paul's guns. He confirms Paul's gun got lost or stolen. #MurdaughTrial
They used different vehicles to get around the property at Moselle. #MurdaughTrial
They didn't usually walk to the kennels. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie treated him like one of her own children. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie went down to the kennels via a number of methods. #MurdaughTrial
Speaking of Maggie - glad to see Maggie Fox questioning this witness! This is the second one they let her question. #MurdaughTrial
He talks about being notified about the murders & the sunflowers that CB Rose sprayed. Defense is done. #MurdaughTrial
XE: Paul was there whenever he needed him, no matter the time or day. Maggie treated him like her own child. He is a little owner than Paul was. #MurdaughTrial
Paul was an avid cell phone user. That's why he was always available to answer whenever he needed Paul. #MurdaughTrial
He knows about guns & is a hunter. He rode with Paul to the Halloween party (2017 or 18) when the gun was lost or stolen. It was there before they went into the party & gone when they left. #MurdaughTrial
He believes the gun was stolen. #MurdaughTrial
Paul had a favorite shotgun. Thank goodness we aren't pulling it out again. #MurdaughTrial
Paul used Buster's gun as his own. They are discussing gun models. Guns were occasionally left at the kennels. They were not stored there. #MurdaughTrial
They are discussing hunting seasons. #MurdaughTrial
They really coulda just did a "no questions for this witness" & let us get to Alex testifying!! This witness is not adding anything new for either side! #MurdaughTrial
Paul had an unpredictable lifestyle. #MurdaughTrial
You never knew where Paul was going to be on any given day. #MurdaughTrial
He spoke to Paul on 6/7/21 about the sunflowers that died. Tuten helped with the farming at Moselle. #MurdaughTrial
The sunflowers attract doves for them to hunt. #MurdaughTrial
He did identify Alex's voice on the kennel video. #MurdaughTrial
The kennel area & hangar area has fluorescent lighting. You can see the lighting from the house. #MurdaughTrial
On the night of the murders, Alex told him, "The f-ing boat wreck" & he asked him to call Rogan. #MurdaughTrial
RE-DIRECT: Paul cleaned out his truck that Friday before taking it to get detailed. #MurdaughTrial
You can only see the lights & the roof from the house at night, not exactly what was going on. #MurdaughTrial
Tuten is done. And now ladies & gentleman, get your popcorn and your orange Capri Suns ready, we'll have the man, the myth, the legend himself, #AlexMurdaugh, taking the stand after this break. #MurdaughTrial
Alex says he doesn't need to talk to Dick before testifying. Dick says that hurts his feelings. #MurdaughTrial
Alex admits he lied about being at the kennels. But he is adamant he did not kill his wife or son. #MurdaughTrial
The drugs caused him to have paranoid thoughts & that's why he lied. #MurdaughTrial
Alex apologizes. Says he would never do anything tö intentionally hurt them. Ever. EVER. #MurdaughTrial
Once he lied, he continued to lie because he felt he had to. #MurdaughTrial
He is recapping the day of 6/7/21 starting with the morning & Maggie's dr appointment. He says he always asked Maggie to come home & stay. #MurdaughTrial
He calls Paul "PawPaw" He knew Paul was coming home because of the dove fields. #MurdaughTrial
They rode around the property that afternoon. #MurdaughTrial
He remembers messing with the tree in the video. It was a food plot. That was a fruit tree that had fallen over & Paul was laughing at him trying to get it stand up straight. #MurdaughTrial
They were having a good time. You could not be around Paul & not have a good time. You couldn't be any closer than him & Paul. He loved doing anything with Paul. #MurdaughTrial
Moselle was really a passion for Paul. #MurdaughTrial
Paul got home a little before 7:00 & Alex got there a little before him. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie got there after 8:00. He believes he was at the shop when Maggie arrived. #MurdaughTrial
He went to the house when Maggie got home & he left Paul at the shop. #MurdaughTrial
He took a shower when he went to the house. The clothes in the tree video are the ones he wore to work. #MurdaughTrial
He was heavy at the time, had been outside, & the pills all combined together made him sweat. So he showered. He put on the clothes he had on when LE arrived. #MurdaughTrial
He ate on the couch. Maggie ate on a TV tray. Paul ate on the ottoman to the recliner. TV was on. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie wanted to go to the kennels & she asked him to go. He didn't want to go at first. He had just taken a shower and he knew he would do work & get dirty again. #MurdaughTrial
Jim asks him to go back to Friday before the murders. Mr. Randolph was in the hospital. Alex spent the night at the hospital & didn't get much sleep. #MurdaughTrial
Saturday before the murders, they went with Buster & Brooklyn to a baseball tournament. They went early & tailgated. They ran into some old college friends who ended up marrying each other. They had a lot of fun. #MurdaughTrial
They went to another game the next day, then headed back to Moselle. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie spoiled Mr. Randolph. He loved sweets so they took him Krispy Kreme donuts. They spent that Sunday night together at Moselle. #MurdaughTrial
Alex worked that day and was tired the night of 6/7 when Maggie asked him to go to the kennels. He then changed his mind and went on the golf cart to the kennels. #MurdaughTrial
It was a little bit of chaos when he got down there. Maggie had let the dogs off. Bubba was the family dog. Maggie had a special place in her heart for Bubba. #MurdaughTrial
The dogs loved to chase the chicken. Alex got the chicken out of Bubba's mouth. #MurdaughTrial
Alex did not exactly what Paul was doing with Cash. Bubba had on a tracking collar, he's not sure about Grady. #MurdaughTrial
Alex left and went back to the house after he got the chicken out of Bubba's mouth. #MurdaughTrial
He went back to the house on the golf cart. #MurdaughTrial
It didn't take him long to get the chicken out of Bubba's mouth. #MurdaughTrial
He went back to the house to the A/C & eventually made up his mind that he was going to see his mom. #MurdaughTrial
Mr. Randolph was in the hospital frequently & he believes she knew when Mr. Randolph was gone. Ms. Mixon could handle Ms. Libby better than anybody else. Barbara had given Ms. Libby meds when she was agitated. #MurdaughTrial
Alex parked in the back, to the left, when he went to his mom's. Jim pulls up the GM Onstar data with the dots & show where he parked. #MurdaughTrial
Alex wasn't the only one who parked in the back at Almeda. #MurdaughTrial
Mr. Randolph was always in the back. Ms. Libby was always in the back, the kitchen or the breakfast room. #MurdaughTrial
Ms. Libby & Ms. Shelley were at Almeda when he arrived on 6/7. He knocked but Ms. Shelley didn't hear him so he called so she could let him in. #MurdaughTrial
Ms. Libby was awake. He sat on her hospital bed & talked to her. #MurdaughTrial
He laid on the regular bed, talked to Ms. Shelley & watched TV. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie wasn't planning to go to Almeda with him. She loved to visit Mr. Randolph. But she did not like to visit Ms. Libby. Ms. Libby was a shell of her old self so Maggie didn't like to see her like that. #MurdaughTrial
He went out the main gate when he left Moselle to go to Almeda. #MurdaughTrial
He didn't go by the kennels because he didn't think there was a reason to. #MurdaughTrial
He drove straight to Almeda & back to Moselle. #MurdaughTrial
That 1 minute he was paused in the driveway, he was picking up his phone that he had dropped. #MurdaughTrial
The speed he was driving was the normal speed he drives. #MurdaughTrial
When he got back to Moselle, he went through the main entrance and went inside the house. He thought Maggie & Paul would have been back but he wasn't surprised or shocked. #MurdaughTrial
He was always hot. She was always cold. (Relatable!!) #MurdaughTrial
He then drove down to the kennels in his Suburban & saw Maggie & Paul murdered. "I saw what y'all have seen pictures of." He cries and says it was so bad. #MurdaughTrial
He saw them on the ground when he pulled up. He jumped out when he stopped. He ran back to the car & called 9-1-1. Then he went back and forth between them. #MurdaughTrial
He was going up to the bodies while he was on the phone with 9-1-1. He tried to check Paul for a pulse. He tried to turn him over. He doesn't know why he tried to turn him over. #MurdaughTrial
He could see his brain laying on the sidewalk & he didn't know what to do. He grabbed him by the belt loop & tried to turn him over and that's when the phone popped out. He picked it up and sat it down. #MurdaughTrial
It's not that he wasn't able to turn Paul over, he just didn't turn him over. #MurdaughTrial
He was on the side away from where his Suburban was. He didn't see any messages on Paul's phone. #MurdaughTrial
He touched Maggie but doesn't know exactly where, maybe her waist. #MurdaughTrial
The Colleton County portion of the 9-1-1 call is played. #MurdaughTrial
He didn't go all the way to them when he first jumped out of the truck. He went all the way to them after he called 9-1-1. #MurdaughTrial
The dogs were in the kennels, the same place they were when LE arrived. He didn't do anything with the dogs or the hose. #MurdaughTrial
When he says, "I should have known", he was referring to the threats Paul had been receiving. #MurdaughTrial
They disregarded the threats because they thought they were so over the top. #MurdaughTrial
He got the gun off the pool table & a handful of shells. The gun had a shell in it. He put a 16 gauge shell in it, which is incorrect because it was a 12 gauge gun. #MurdaughTrial
He would not do that under "normal" circumstances. #MurdaughTrial
There was a report of a threats made to Paul to the Dean of Students. #MurdaughTrial
The 9-1-1 operator seems to be trying to keep him on the phone after he says he needs to go so he can call some family. #MurdaughTrial
He tried to call Rogan because he was like family. He wanted somebody to be out there with him and Rogan lived the closest (2 or 3 miles) #MurdaughTrial
He did not see Rogan trying to call Paul's phone. He accidentally hit the FaceTime button to Rogan. He does not FaceTime. #MurdaughTrial
He was not reading text messages (text from Michael Gunn) #MurdaughTrial
They got takeout from Whaley's a lot so he must have hit that on accident while trying to make calls. #MurdaughTrial
These actions on his phone are unintentional. We are taking a break. Jury heads out to jury room. #MurdaughTrial
He got blood on his fingertips, probably from both of them. #MurdaughTrial
If Maggie's blood was on the gun, it came from him. #MurdaughTrial
It was far & few between when Paul actually cleaned his guns. #MurdaughTrial
There was no way he had high velocity spatter on him. He was nowhere in the vicinity when Paul & Maggie got shot. #MurdaughTrial
He doesn't remember what time they got back to Moselle on 6/8/21. #MurdaughTrial
Alex asked Owen for the GPS data to confirm where he went. #MurdaughTrial
He asked him about it EVERY time they spoke. #MurdaughTrial
He gave John Marvin the passcode to Maggie's phone, and he gave it to SLED. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie loved to check your location via the "Find My Friends" app. #MurdaughTrial
Alex knew he was a suspect since he was the one who found the bodies. #MurdaughTrial
Hoping Jim pulls a Poot & says it's time for lunch! I'm hungry!

The rest of the week after the murders, Alex was never left alone. He was attached to Buster at the hip. #MurdaughTrial
On 6/10/21, Mr. Randolph passed.

Alex stayed with Buster at John Marvin's on 6/8/21. #MurdaughTrial
Paul & Maggie's service was on Friday. But they didn't bury them until Sunday with Mr. Randolph. #MurdaughTrial
He did not take a tarp to Almeda the week following Mr. Randolph's funeral. He doesn't remember ever taking a tarp over there. Says he may have, but he doesn't recall, but it wasn't around the time of his dads's funeral. #MurdaughTrial
Interview video is pulled up. He is asked when he went to work. He gave the wrong time in the interview. #MurdaughTrial
He did tell them to check his key card to confirm. #MurdaughTrial
He told them Paul got to Moselle around 5:00. That was incorrect. He got there around 7:00. #MurdaughTrial
He doesn't distinctly remember having a conversation with Ms. Shelley about exaggerating the amount of time he was at Almeda. #MurdaughTrial
Alex told Ms. Shelley that SLED would be interviewing her and she should cooperate & tell them the truth. #MurdaughTrial
Alex requested the 8/11 interview. He had been asking Owen to meet with him. He wanted answers to give to Maggie's parents. He had been begging for weeks. #MurdaughTrial
He thought Owen was going to give him an update that day. By the end of that meeting, he knew he was the suspect. #MurdaughTrial
In that meeting, he was asked about the clothes. #MurdaughTrial
He spoke with Blanca to confirm what he had on earlier that day since they had made a big deal about it during the interview. #MurdaughTrial
His clothes were never an issue until they figured out that there was no blood spatter on his clothes. Objection by State. Judge overrules. #MurdaughTrial
After the murders, he never spent another night at Moselle. He couldn't. He didn't want to. #MurdaughTrial
In the days & weeks following the murders, he stayed with Maggie's parents, with Randy, with John Marvin, & in Edisto. #MurdaughTrial
He had clothes in all of those places, along with a few other places. #MurdaughTrial
Finally breaking for lunch! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 #MurdaughTrial
Back from lunch. Alex remembers meeting with Jeanne Seckinger. He understood she was following up & asking about the Farris fees. He admits the fees came to him directly & they shouldn't have. #MurdaughTrial
He confirms he told her the fees were in Chris Wilson's account. He was not concerned about Chris Wilson opening his books to PMPED. #MurdaughTrial
There was no immediate urgency regarding those fees on 6/7. He knew he would have to address it, but not immediately. #MurdaughTrial
He doesn't recall saying to Ms. Seckinger that Mr. Randolph was terminal right when he got the text. Objection from the State. Overruled. #MurdaughTrial
On 6/7/21, he did not believe his financial house of cards was about to fall. #MurdaughTrial
He had equity in the Moselle property. That property was fully in Maggie's name. They owed $1.8 million. It appraised for over $3 million, not including the timber value, which would have added maybe another $1 million. #MurdaughTrial
He also had equity in the Edisto beach house. #MurdaughTrial
Maggie's death made it more difficult to obtain financing for the properties. #MurdaughTrial
His concern about the 6/10/21 boat crash hearing was focused on the venue, not the financial portion. #MurdaughTrial
He wanted the case to stay in Hampton County. #MurdaughTrial
He admits to stealing client funds. #MurdaughTrial
He's not quite sure how he let himself get to where he got. He had an addiction to Oxy. He got addicted to opioids after he had knee surgery in college. #MurdaughTrial
He went to a detox facility 3 times. First time was December 2017. #MurdaughTrial
He also tried to detox at home. "He tried to detox every way he could". #MurdaughTrial
There is a difference between detox & rehab. Detox is getting the drugs out of your system. #MurdaughTrial

Finally getting in bed to watch #MurdaughMurders. #MurdaughNetflix
"Y'all know Alex Murdaugh? That's his son. Good luck." That quote has stuck out to me since the very first time I heard it on the podcast. #MurdaughMurders #MurdaughNetflix
Then once I saw one of the other docs and saw Paul smiling after the boat crash ... while everyone else was worried & looking for #MalloryBeach, it was even more clear to me just how powerful this family really was. #MurdaughMurders #MurdaughNetflix

Fernandez and Sutton are arguing about the pellets. Dick objects to the comment Fernandez makes about "We'll get to that." Judge Newman sustains. #MurdaughTrial
Are we getting into the weeds here? Does the hole the pellets went through really matter in proving if Alex pulled the triggers?? #MurdaughTrial
Does the Jury care about the State being argumentative with a witness? #MurdaughTrial

Day 21 of the #MurdaughTrial. We're back after a long weekend. Judge says we have 2 issues: 1) Juror #441 is sick & will be replaced with Juror #530. This was an alternate Juror who took the place of #220. 2) Jim being on Twitter retweeting the article about the investigation.
Judge Newman said the first tweet he saw this morning was Jim's retweet!! Judge tells him not to post or repost anything. He says his command not to discuss the case doesn't apply to the lawyers, but it doesn't look good. #MurdaughTrial
Defense plans to wrap up their case by Friday. Jurors should expect to receive their Jury Charge sometime next week, depending on how long the State takes to Rebuttal. #MurdaughTrial
