So, let's begin our research of the 2S22 "Bogdana" artillery

This is a 155mm self-propelled artillery of 🇺🇦production created on the basis of the KrAZ-63221.
Development began at least in 2016.
It became the first Ukrainian SPG developed to NATO standard caliber of 155mm

At the end of January 2022, before the full-scale Russian invasion, it was reported that "Bogdana" had successfully passed preliminary firing tests, carrying out 450 shots at a range of 42 km.

About the new version

At the IDEX-2023 international exhibition (February 20-24) in Abu Dhabi, the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Building Plant presented the updated 🇺🇦2S22 "Bogdana" self-propelled artillery system.

The manufacturer claims that the artillery system can fire at a rate of up to 5 rounds per minute, and its ammunition load will consist of 20 shells. The crew of such an artillery system is 5 people.

The customer is offered a choice of different modifications of the SAU based on trucks produced by Tatra, Kraz or MAN companies.

Exhibition samples were presented in the form of the Ukrainian truck KrAZ 6×6 and an alternative version based on Tatra T815 8×8 from the 🇺🇦 company

"We attach importance to the🇺🇦"Bohdana" I have already signed the first contracts and the manufacturers have promised to make the first deliveries in the coming months," Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said about the order of new 🇺🇦artillery systems

In his interview on February 20, Resnikov did not give a specific answer to the question about the number of ordered artillery installations, citing the sensitivity of the information, but hinted at the volume of the order.

"I cannot say, it is non-public. Let's put it this way, the first divisions," the minister replied.

Interesting fact

With the start of full-scale armed aggression by 🇷🇺 against 🇺🇦, on February 25, 2022, the developers of the self-propelled howitzer "Bogdana" received an order to destroy it so that the latest🇺🇦artillery system would not fall into enemy hands

In Kramatorsk, the prototype was disassembled into parts and transported to Zhytomyr. There it was successfully reassembled and sent to the front.
