A blind senior Terrier, Crawford lived in 'the dark' & was found as a stray in a rural & desolate town in Georgia. We say 'the dark' because, as a blind dog without a tether to a family or a haven, we imagine it must be terrifying, dangerous, and utterly disorienting.π

Crawford was brought to a chaotic shelter that is frequently overflowing with animals. The shelter was loud, and his senses must have been on overdrive because he was horrified and couldn't be kept alone in a kennel.

Hearing Crawford's heartrending situation, we want to provide him with all medical care and eventually a new, forever secure, loving family.

While Crawford was expressing his panic and confusion, the kind shelter staff offered Crawford a space in their office where he could at least be near humans and know he could temporarily be safe. π
Crawford has been described as a charming boy with an essence that exudes joy and love when he knows he is safe.
His thick cataracts block his vision, keeping him in the darkness and disconnected.π

Our hope for Crawford is to get him from our partner vet to travel to an eye specialist for a consultation and, hopefully, eye surgery to help him regain his sight.
