What was the Sri Lankan Tamil war all about?

There are 20 lakh tamils in north SL, who have been living there for close to a millennium. Sri Lankan Tamils.

And there are 10 lakh tamils in a particular area in

south SL, Kandy, who were taken there in 19th century by British. Indian/Plantation/Malayaga Tamils.

They r mostly laborers/coolies and majority of them r from the lowest castes.

The conflict is in north SL, Jaffna, which has a distinct culture/civilization, and history.

The conflict pertains only to Jaffna, though the tamils in south played a key role.

So, what happened was - Vellalas, who form ~50% of the population of the northern, Sri Lankan Tamils, had kept the remaining 50% of the population in an inhuman servility & slavery for centuries.

All executive state heads of SL since independence, except for Ranasinghe Premadasa, have been goyigama.

They run the govt, army, everything.

The goyi and the vellala are thick friends.

When the lower caste tamils rose up against

the casteist subjugation of the vellalas, the vellalas brought thr friends, the goyigama to the battle.

'Tamil Eelam' was the veil under which this happened.

The poor old lower caste tamils (LTTE) believed in the cause of Eelam. They didn't realize the game.
