Political leaders know how difficult it is to convince even the poorest of Indians to vote for them. If you can't FORCE intelligent Indians to vote in your favor, what wave of folly makes you think Indians can be FORCED to change their religion? Don't insult an Indian's wisdom.
It is the birthright of every human to decide whether the gods his ancestors worshipped are worthy of his continued devotion. He can reject all religions or choose another.
