Nord Stream story by Hersh continues to dominate CCTV's flagship news.
-The 2.8 Substack article by Hersh again highlighted today
-In other news a 20-minute snoozefest of Xi presiding over interminable meetings (saved for last)
The Hersh story has been touted daily for three weeks now, but CCTV found a fresh angle with a little assist from Russia Today.
An American protester at a US campus is recorded shouting slogans:
"We want peace and dialogue, not Nord Stream.."
"US foreign policy should solve problems, not destroy things."
The young man is escorted about by a CUNY campus security guard.
Next thing you know, his image is being beamed around the world by Moscow, on this Russia Today interview.
A good media "get" for RT.
Jose Vega is mad and not gonna take it anymore.
This Italian gentleman says Hersh's story, if true, was a war-like act on America's part.
"It's has really delivered a shock to international relations these days...
"It should be investigated."
"Who benefits behind the scenes?"
A professor from Thailand's National Defense College seconds the motion:
"I believe the report by Hersh deserves more widespread attention."
"International intervention is called for."
In other Nord Stream news, there's talk of environmental damage. Viktor Orban calls it terrorism.
In case you haven't heard, a train carrying chemicals derailed in Ohio on February 3.
CCTV still reports on this daily.
If there are any Chinese viewers still unfamiliar with the town of East Palestine in Ohio it's because they haven't been paying attention.
It's a toxic mess, cleanup is messy, and the water is polluted. CCTV had a crew on the scene for a while.
And that's the high note the news ends on, but now let's go back to the news open...
Guess who's the man of the hour?
Yep.
Wave after wave of heart-felt applause rocks the majestic hall for an extended period, threatening to shake the timbers.
It's democracy with Chinese characteristics*
*in the New Era
Get used to seeing these mugs in the news.
They're made members of the inner circle now.
It's the high point in their lives.
A day of effulgent happiness...
A day to remember...
Even the military brass pretends to be impressed.
All votes passed by 100% percent, which, if you think about it, is superior to Western democracy.
But don't think too much.
But you want more, right? Rest assured, there's more!
Another ten minutes of the news time devoted to another meeting...chaired by the one and only.
-First ten minutes a bitter sea of turgid words
-Red flags aflutter everywhere.
-CCP must be doing something right.
-China blossoms, and flowers do too.
-Special military operation
-Nord Stream

"The Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and members of the leading Party members groups of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, the State Council...blah, blah, blah..."

Oh, how China has changed since those dark feudal days when foreign dignitaries had to pay ritual respects to the almighty emperor!
A ceremonial guard, the herald of trumpets and a 21-gun salute is the visiting dignitaries reward for complying with the emperor's wishes.
It's not North Korea level insanity yet, but it's getting close.
This dry, desiccated, remote part of China used to be an unforgiving desert, ravaged by sand storms, drought and totally unsuitable for propaganda purposes...
...until a man like no other, the man who has done more to reduce poverty than any other man in the history of the planet, visited and put his shoulder to the shovel.
It's amazing what the power of Xi Jinping Thought in the New Era can achieve!
The chairman talked to me!
Before he left, he asked if I had any difficulties, because the government, at every level, is ready to be of service.
No problem, I said. I am extraordinarily happy!
Everyone knows the chairman is a lofty philosopher beaming with empathy, a scholar, a poet, and an engineer of the soul...
....but how many knew he was such a good cook!
He came into my house, started poking around the kitchen and stirred the stew!
Guess who's coming to dinner?
-Narcissism in manic overdrive
-China's saviour barges into people's homes, points at things, touches things, eats and leaves
-NATO=war
-Russia=peace
-Nord Stream bubbling
-Ohio is a train wreck
Top story is about...Xi Jinping, a bosom friend who really cares
The world gushes with praise for China's peace proposal, especially Russia and Belarus, but there are a few others
-Russia firing weapons=seeking peace
-NATO supplying weapons=seeking war
-Ohio rots
-Earthy Xi shines bright
China chastises the US for supplying Ukraine, but day after day leads with fiery shots of Russian ammo in action.
