Clarification questions, also good conversation around communication from parents to teachers/principal if something is happening outside for the school environment to be aware of and perhaps address, if they don't know they can't help the kiddos #schcom0228

Some of the behaviors take away from the instructional priority but it is important to address; if they aren't, the issue(s) can fester and really grow in preventing appropriate educational efforts #schcom0228

i.e. multiple daily bathroom checks to see if graffiti has appeared at HMMS #schcom0228 apparently also using signing in/out as a method of checking

Accommodations made to address issues including going to assigned tables in the cafe as expectations weren't being met, also a waterfall release of classrooms to avoid crowding in the corridor, middle schoolers are growing and bigger now than they were in Sept, #schcom0228

Did get an additional counselor this year so now 2 folks are working across the 3 middle schools is a help (likely would also be better if it were 3 for 3) #schcom0228 need to keep investing in the teachers, a couple of openings still trying to be filled

Spending some time on the individual Tier slides where the definitions are will likely be beneficial, key is Tier 3 is not Special Ed. Stats for year to date show 28% of the current students receiving Tier 2&3 support. More resources (i.e. people time) would help #schcom0228

Consider about an hour additional per student of Tier 2&3 support; it would vary by school, student, and grade, material (i.e. capacity of the individual K is different from 5th) #schcom0228

SEL and literacy will be forth coming in future meetings but the concept of the MTSS elevator support is the same and carries across #schcom0228 math specialists meet together once a week, having the tiered support spaces on special Ed

Chair Spencer asks good question: help me with answering parent and community questions on the need for and value specialists? In elementary the teachers are generalist, middle and high are specialists in their subject matter, hence the math (in particular) ... #schcom0228

The specialists provide support to the teachers to deliver the curriculum to the students so the students receive the support they need #schcom0228
