Now, for those who don't know, Nostr an exciting new protocol that allows for the creation of decentralized social networks and other solutions using self-owned account/identities. 😎

The Nostr social network is built much like Twitter, where you can create posts (or "notes"), like posts, follow and unfollow others, and even retweet/repost. It's a new way of social networking that puts the power back in the hands of the users. 👥

So, how do you get started on Nostr?

You'll need to use one of its clients to access the network. Some of the more popular clients include astral.ninja, coracle.social, Damus (iOS app) & iris (android).

🔑 To get started, create a private/public keypair using a client like astral.ninja. This keypair is your self-sovereign identity in the Nostr system, so make sure to keep the private key somewhere safe and secret.

You can always generate a new one if you lose it, but you may lose access to your old private messages. 🪦

The best part: Zaps ⚡️

A Zap is a payment made via Bitcoin's Lightning network, and it's a key feature of Nostr. Although Nostr doesn't rely on blockchain tech, it still allows each message or event to have a "Zap request" or "Zap invoice" (aka receipt).
