Swap out "transgenderism" for literally any other minority group and see how this sounds. See who it sounds like. See how far those people went to achieve their promised eradication. And then see what it finally took to stop them.
The smaller and more vulnerable the minority, the better for fascists. Pick a group that's already historically ostracized, with a tiny sliver of the total population, and you maximize the power of stereotypes, while minimizing the chance the average citizen knows any member.
When people don't know any members of a minority on a personal level, it's incredibly easy to dehumanize them. Turn them into the "Other," the enemy. Throw in some blood libel about how they're a threat to your women and the future of your children and boom, you're almost there.
And the smaller the minority, the less political and cultural power they hold. The less effective they will be organizing and defending themselves, either in the "Marketplace of ideas," or in the literal, physical sense.
Trans people account for less than 1% of US citizens today.
Jewish people accounted for less than 1% of German citizens in 1933.
But the Nazis didn't stop with Jews. They moved on to to the next most vulnerable minority group. Then the next. And then the next...
First, they came for the transgender, and I spoke out immediately even though I'm straight and cis because I've read the rest of the fucking poem.

It's strange to me they're using AIM-9X Sidewinders to shoot these balloons down. They're cheap for an A2A missile, about a quarter million per, but they use infrared "heat seeking" guidance. What kind of heat signature does a balloon have? Unless they have a radar seeker, too...
AIM-120s are almost twice as expensive per unit, but they have onboard radar guidance, and a balloon carrying a surveillance platform is about the biggest, dumbest radar target you can get.
But if it's about cost, why not just get close enough for a 20mm gun kill?
You're literally just popping a big rubber or mylar helium balloon. Cannon rounds will do the job from more than far enough away to ensure the shooter doesn't get tangled in debris.
Fun fact: Texas is the only state in the union with an independent power grid (excluding HI and AK for obvious reasons). Most of the state separated from the two national grids in preparation for eventual secession.
While Texans freeze, again, many of them are still facing down energy bills in the multi-thousands of dollars from the last time their grid collapsed in the middle of winter because Texas allows their power company to charge MORE when it fails to meet demand. Weeeee!!!!
Oh and why does their grid keep collapsing in cold weather (or hot weather)? Why it's because they decided to save money by not weatherizing their equipment, because WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS EXCEPT LITERALLY EVERY CLIMATE SCIENTIST ON PLANET FUCKING EARTH?
My 15 yr old Mustang has been in one minor, and one fairly major accident that required replacing the rear quarter panel, door panel, and front fender.
Because the parts are steel and readily available, the cost was about $7k to replace the entire passenger side of the car.
Steel is easy to pull, form, shape, cut, and weld. And the modular construction of the car body meant sub components could be swapped out and replaced easily.
None of this applies to a Tesla.
Their bodies and panels are aluminum, which is light and great for efficiency. But...
Does this mean I go back to when I was 10 yrs old in 1990 with all the knowledge of the next three decades?
Or I keep all the knowledge and experience I have now and become a 10 yr old today?
This is an important distinction and critical to my answer.
The 1st scenario leads to either me knowing 9/11 is coming, Iraq War II, Afghanistan, the 2008 crash, Trump stealing the 2016 election, Covid, and no one listening to me, or a fuckton of time paradoxes.
The 2nd scenario just creates the world's most cynical genius 10 yr old.
Know what? No, it doesn't matter. They're both torture.
I'll jump forward the two years and change with $50m in the bank, never have to even attempt to earn money again as long as I live, and Niki and I will spend the balance of our lives reviewing umbrella drinks on beaches.
Trump now faces criminal indictments in NY for tax evasion AND campaign finance crimes for his Stormy Daniels hush payments. Remember, the later his former fixer Michael Cohen was already convicted for, on Trump's orders. This is a very simple case to make to a Grand Jury. 1/
And another NY jury has already brought a guilty verdict in the same case.
This is in addition to the election interference case he faces in GA which has already returned a Special Grand Jury charging recommendation, and the AG there has signaled he's going to be a defendant. 2/
These are both in addition to the Special Counsel investigation federally into both his J6th insurrection and fake electors scheme, and his obstruction in the classified documents case.
That's four separate, ongoing, parallel criminal investigations he's being targeted by. 3/
I've watched the video now. Wish I hadn't, but what struck me about it that was so different from the spin the Memphis PD tried prior to its release is just how shocking it WASN'T.
It's not something we've never seen before. We've seen it a thousand times. 1/
A group of police brutalizing a citizen for no reason whatsoever. Giving contradictory orders so he can be further beaten for "noncompliance." Joking with each other as they "get their stories straight." Planning to lie about their victim reaching for one of their weapons. 2/
All while the body cams roll because not a single one of them thought what they were doing was illegal, or even wrong. Just another day on the beat.
This exact scene has played out over, and over, and over. 3/
