There is a sinister commonality to all the political dynasties in South Asia. Essentially they are tone deaf to the concerns & wishes of normal people. They are out to prioritise their own interests which are often at odds with the national interest. #RahulGandhi #Dynasty
In Pakistan the formula that worked was choosing to be backed by the military while funnelling foreign aid to fund populous schemes that kept you in power. The dynasties went on to accrue obscene wealth. And lived their lavish lifestyles openly. Similarly in India the most famous
dynasties only obsess about how they can come into, and remain in power. In India the formula that worked was dividing Hindus, honing your vote bank and running a socialist, license raj that made everyone dependent on the largess of the gatekeeper families. That is why the most
infamous/famous national dynasty views economic reform and empowerment as a great disaster. That is why they refused to honour the PM who gave the go ahead to economic reforms. Economic growth and empowerment have transformed the political landscape. It became possible for a CM
with a known track record for building infrastructure to defeat famous last names. People no longer queue up at the dynasty’s mansion in New Delhi to be blessed with privileges or positions. Even dynasties are being judged on performance and intelligence. No wonder #RahulGandhi
wants to take India back to how it was. For him Entrepreneurship and being pro-business is evil. He prefers license raj and the central role that political families used to play. Hence the attacks on a few prominent businessmen. They must no longer be queuing up. It is clear that
Modern India has moved on from being centred around one dynasty. People think for themselves, use social media to expose the dynasty’s lies, and have a clearer sense of their identity and are proud of their country. And in successive elections they have rejected the scion of the
Dynasty. So that leaves #RahulGandhi with one realisation. His only way into power is via foreign intervention that installs him in power. He can no longer rely on the ballot box. He knows he’s not acceptable to the electorate. He is now looking out for himself, India be damned.

So the lies begin to flow early in the lecture and they don’t stop. Within the first 5 minutes, referring to a photograph RG makes it seem as if opposition MPs are often arrested violently and thrown in jail just for discussing issues among themselves! #RahulGandhiinCambridge
I noticed another big lie when he claims that at various points 50-100,000 people were marching at one go. Again no evidence of that. Like with COVID numbers people feel they can exaggerate at will when it comes to India. #RahulGandhiinCambridge

Rahul Gandhi has once again asserted that India is a Union of States. As usual he’s is doing so without fully understanding the background of how that language features in the constitution. There has always been an intention to incorporate principles of federalism in running this
large and diverse country. India is not however a union of states that have come together via a negotiation. So unlike Rahul Gandhi’s understanding it is NOT like Europe. India is very much a single, united country. And in practice has been governed in a very centralised way due
to the various national security challenges that we have faced. That has eased off in more recent years. However the reason why Rahul Gandhi keeps repeating his warped understanding of India being a ‘union of states’ is because he thinks he can ring fence certain states off from
