At this point in the season Jokic is my MVP. But the precedent has always been if you win 3 straight MVPs you have to have gotten a ring during that run. You can say that precedent is foolish and I won't argue that. But it has stood throughout that league's history
Now of course we shouldnt continue to make the same mistakes in the present just bc we made them in the past but NBA voters (who are majority white) seem way more willing to break this precedent for a white player than they have been for black players in the past.
And that's for sure a discussion that should be had. Can't bury your head in the sand like JJ about this and deny racial bias exists in sports media or create a "you're saying Jokic is only getting MVP bc he's white??" strawman bc it's way more layered than that.

Way less. Bird, Magic, MJ, Kobe, Shaq, Bron, Steph. And that's probably it. Chuck is a household name too but that's way more bc of his post retirement career.
I'm sorry I meant Bird, Magic, MJ, Kobi, The Shack/Shagg, Cabron, and Step/Steve
Can probably make the case for Rodman here too. Lots of A.I replies. I remember a while back my coworker came back from the weekend and told us she met A.I that weekend. I was the only one in that white ass office who knew who he was. And this was in Virginia.

My favorite thing about Simmons winding up in Brooklyn is how it's a prime example of how yeah sure hard work pays off but often if you're wholeheartedly dedicated to not giving a fuck that can pay off too
But often where the "not giving a fuck" crowd falls short is they're not all the way in on not giving a fuck. They're like halfway in on not giving a fuck. Simmons was so deeply immersed in not giving a fuck he was willing to lose 19M for it. Now look at him.
Bootstraps twitter wanted Ben Simmons exiled into no-man's land as a punishment for him not giving a fuck. Wanted that man on a lottery team in Sacramento. And now he's on a contender in NYC.

Because he was fully, wholeheartedly, 1000% all in on not giving a fuck.

Were only 23 by the time they gave us Southernplayalistic, ATLIENS, and Aquemini. I'll never be able to wrap my mind around that.
It's mindblowing how young so many rap legends of the 80s/90s were when they first took off. Rakim was 20 when Paid In Full dropped. Snoop was 20 when he had his coming out party on The Chronic. Nas was 20 when his debut dropped. BIG was 21 for his. LL was 17 for his
Cube was 17 on Straight Outta Compton. Tribe dropped their debut at 20. Ball & G were 20 for theirs. Bun and Pimp were 19 for theirs. Pac died 3 months into his 25th year. 99% of the 48,792 song he gave us were done by the time he was 24. Pete Rock was 21 when he produced TROY

Whitlock criticized Kap bc he wanted him to be more vocal. Whitlock criticized Bron for being vocal on Ahmaud Arbery. The jig is clear as day. But I'll spell it out bc I don't like leaving shit up to interpretation. His brand now is silencing blk ppl who speak out against racism
I know everyone's saying "don't feed the trolls" but I promise you Whitlock's days are numbered. The token black puppets who racists point to like "it's not racist bc this black person said it wasn't" don't have a long shelf life.
Don't get it confused. Being the token black person who downplays racism is lucrative. Business is booming over there. The highs can be really high if you're willing to sell your soul for a seat at that table. But it's not something that you can bank on in the long run

Ok but while we're here. The greatest NBA beef story will always be Gilbert Arenas vs Javaris Crittenton. Nothing else comes close.
All started over a card game during a flight home. Arenas & Crittenton came to an argument over $1000. They touch down. Argument still isn't resolved. Arenas and Crittenton are walking to their cars. Arenas says "I play with guns". Crittenton says "I play with guns too"
Next day before practice. Arenas is in the locker room. Lays out 4 guns. In front of Crittenton's locker. Crittenton walks in.
