So most of you might not know, but I do serious dev work and not just meme stuff. Unless you’ve seen me stream on discord, this will probably be the first real look at the RGB-Crescent, and the design that Ive dubbed the ‘Ruby’s Gyro-Baffle’ (hence the RGB in RGB-Crescent)🧵 RGB crescent hype promoNon functional crescent printed in glow in the dark PLA to sNon functional crescent with a functional FGC-o9 for scaleCrescent🤝urutau I hope to make an integrated silencer fo
(Note: those complete prints are of a non-functioning display model I shared to beta testers, as well as some select friends) Also with a 55mm/s 99 infill .17mm layer height, around 2 and a half day print. The KCAD baffle sheath alone is almost alone
I wanted people (especially trans people) to have an affordable, quality option to help protect their ears at the range, comprtition, home defense, and slighting against tyranny. That’s what where here to fight for after all
The release of the crescent will also include the STEP file for the Gyro-Baffle on its own, so it can be adapted and built upon. It uses ideas from spiral deflector baffled silencers, which was then optimized for FDM 3D printing. Here is one of the coolest pics from the beta so far imo. One of the beta testers (and fellow silencer dev) cut the model down as thin as possible, and wrapped it in fiberglass tape, and this right here is a pic of the 1st round through it, with the inside being illuminated. 👀 Photo showing the oxygen being burned up inside the crescent
As a note, this here is the original concept I designed, but after talking it through with some others, I finally settled on a solid body design to make printing as quick and easy as possible. The 2nd pic is of the first model tested, and lasted ~90rd mag dump of 9mm supes The first crescent design before switching to solid bodyThe first crescent design tested, and it performed beautifulThe current model (halved) in STL form
I think the coolest part about the first test design is that based on the video and what the tester said, it failed due to a baffle strike at the very front from limping. Considering how thin the neck was, and how big the front is, it’s amazing it lasted that long with just PLA+ Photo from the beta tester showing failurePhoto from beta tester showing failure
Fun side note! according to the beta testers, in the event of a catastrophic failure, it will ‘safely’ propel the part in front of and away from you, rather than corn-cobbing and possibly harming someone or something next to you.
Post processing and threading is also incredibly simple, and takes about 15 minutes. The device is heat threaded, which not only creates a stronger seal for the gasses, but it also partially anneals the area, improving strength. It can be direct threaded, or used with a $25 brake A thread tester on a MacPhoto from a beta tester showing Thread size tester threadedThe 25$ muzzle break from T*cBr*.c*m
And with regards to our non-American friends, I’ve been working on alternative attachment methods for firearms without threaded barrels. I am also in the process of devising a similar system for the bidens bane handguard FGC9 handguard for a Crescent mounting system. No threading
Over the course of development, I learned a lot of neat and interesting tricks for FDM printing optimization. For example, the Crescent breaks hard with current guncad silencer trends, and is printed entirely vertically without supports. It’s also where it gets it’s name! twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
There was a lot learned on this project, and I’m planning on making a video for odyssey (as well as detail in the documentation) the purpose and reason for everything, since the design, as pretty as it may be, is built for functionality. Even the external geometry. The fluting and fractal nature of the neck all help to comba
Overall, I couldn’t be happier and more excited with how the project has progressed. I never imagined my desire for a silencer, without paying ridiculous prices as well as dealing with long-ass print times and baffle nonsense. According to the testers, this thing kicks ass.
You can dump 9mm supes like an absolute champ through it. 9mm subs are dead silent, and it can just lay down 300BLK Subs like it’s no issue. This video is from a beta tester testing 300BLK subs for he first time. Unfortunately, it does not appear to handle 300BLK supes (yet)
Ngl, it’s incredibly surreal having people reach out tome telling me they’re planning on F1ing one. Its almost like “wow you believe in it that much to drop 200 dollars on it?” But I can’t help but be incredibly grateful for, and delighted to help fuck gun control+inspire others
I also can’t emphasize enough how much JSTARK influenced this project. There is one line in an interview that always stuck with me (see vid), but even though they’re not regulated, they’re still quite expensive (overpriced imo) considering it’s a safety device
Like we already have over models based off the design being prototypes and being tested in the betw.

There’s so much cool stuff going on, but after I talked with other silencer devsD I have the feeling z2023 is gonna be the year of guncad silencers—or kitchen is COOKIN’ RGB-Chimera57 for 5.7mm and .22lrThe RGB—LHOOQ and RGB-SELABYz both for .223/5.56 and SCCY Prototype progress from a beta tester
If you have any other question or want to help participate for the last little bits, feel free to reach out to me on the RocketChat, or on Twitter if you must
And now all that left is for my F1 to go through, and I can finally read this thing for real, and see if it’s as good as the beta testers say.

The wait has been rough, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
I hope now everyone, no matter their income level, can have access to affordable and easy hearing protection for all their pew needs. Especially for trans and other marginalized communities facing tyranny and genocide at the moment.
I’m also looking for helping to help do propaganda for the crescent x so if you’re interested, please reach out to me and or @SillyGirlSoc 🙏
She’ll help you out.
Ps @AGCast4 please pause scavenging for krus in pripyat and I know money is tight but finish that video soonpls 🙏
If you have any other questions, or what to contribue, please message please contact me on the the rocket chat preferably, (or Twitter I guess)

But seriously if you’re not on the add Rocket chat already get on it now.
In conclusion, thank you to everyone who helped during the course of this project, y’all are the ones who really made this possible. For new devs, my advice is just to for that idea you have? And keep reiterating and try new thing—break the mold. We’re hitting a tipping point,
Jus to go for*, also ignore the question mark whoops
‘16mm infill, and it takes about the same time as the KCAD sheath alone. Words are hard sometimes lol
God I need Twitter blue.
It should say “our* kitchen is COOKIN’l
*baffle nonsense would lead to where the project is now
“At the range, competition matches, home defense, and even when fighting against tyranny”*
