#RWBY#RWBYSPOILERS OKAY THEORY TIME I was talking to a friend and he mentioned the idea that Alyx Might Still Be In The Everafter, which made me come up with a theory of my own with this idea in mind, as well as a theory of the identity of the mystery blacksmith person
From Oz and Oscar's account of the fairytale, we learn that Alyx ended up in the Everafter when she was running away from a mistake and it wasn't until she had "learned her lesson" that she returned to Remnant, but when she did return, "she wasn't the same girl anymore"
What if that was more literal than originally thought? Now with mentions from the Cat and Herbalist about how "times change and so do we" and how "kings become princes" what if the Everafter can fundamentally change your very identity? Or rather can "shed" PARTS of your identity?
I think that's what Alyx did. I think she went through the same dilemma as Ruby, wanting to be free of the burden of her own identity because it became too much to bear, and the Everafter let her split her being into two, one returning to Remnant, and the other staying behind
The one who returned to Remnant would go on to write what would become the well-known fairytale. And the other... became the blacksmith. And her meeting with Ruby will be a defining moment in Ruby's development
"What if you could leave Ruby Rose behind? Shed like an old coat..."
