Thanks to the #InflationReductionAct starting in April, some Medicare beneficiaries will pay less out of pocket for 27 different prescription drugs. This could mean up to $390 per dose in savings on out-of-pocket costs. wsj.com/articles/first…
As part of this legislation passed by @HouseDemocrats last year, companies that raise the prices of prescription medicines higher than inflation would have to pay the rebates, one of several provisions in the #InflationReductionAct aimed at curbing high drug costs.
Pharmaceutical companies that don’t pay could face a penalty that is 125% of the rebate amount. This is an important step forward that will help Seniors nationwide afford the medications they need. I will continue to work to bring these savings to all Ohioans and all Americans.

Democratic and Republican Members of Congress representing the congested northern Ohio rail corridor are eager to address aging rail infrastructure, increased traffic and rail safety. The stakes are too high for more delay.
We must also look to the future and come together to protect workers and deliver transformative and safe commercial and passenger rail solutions.
While the #RAILAct begins to address the multitude of problems, there will be more work needed to fully address the longstanding issues that have led to three major derailments in Ohio in the last six months alone.

I share the pain, anguish, frustration, and fear of so many who demonstrated peacefully across our region & U.S. this weekend. The rate that black Americans die during police interactions and the deficient responses their families receive from our judicial system is a disgrace.
It is our duty to snuff out all forms of hate and racism. Those protesting peacefully are patriots. Their demonstration is as the Founders envisioned and they deserve respect and admiration for seeking a better America. They will make our country stronger.
To the small minority of people who've resorted to violence, consider the lasting effects such chaos will have on communities struggling already. “Darkness can't drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate can't drive out hate; only love can do that.” - MLK Jr.

As workers across our region return to the workplace, I'm concerned by the continued lack of testing needed to keep them safe. (Thread) toledoblade.com/opinion/editor…
FCA has take innovative & industry leading measures to prevent infection among workers. Nobody wants to see Jeep, or any employer, become the next Smithfield, where hundreds of workers became infected with COVID. It's not Jeep's fault that testing remains scarce– that's on Trump.
The fact remains that testing and contact tracing will play a core role in our ability to safely reopen the country and return to work. It’s why I voted yes on the HEROES Act, which would commit another $75 billion for the testing, tracing, and treatment of COVID-19.

How our nation rebuilds its infrastructure over the next decade will play a monumental role in our ability to combat climate change for the next century.
That’s why as Chair of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, I’m working to facilitate greater understanding and coordination between local, state, and federal agencies. Image
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to tour critical dam safety infrastructure and the Port of Los Angeles in Southern California. When it comes to clean energy and water infrastructure, what we can learn in Southern California matters in Northern Ohio and vice-versa. Image

Last night, the House passed the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, a historic victory for the American worker and the most significant piece of legislation strengthening workers’ right to organize in over 80 years. I’m glad to be an original cosponsor. washingtonpost.com/business/2020/…
Nationwide, millions of Americans work full-time jobs or even multiple part-time jobs, yet earn unsustainable wages & little to no benefits. Too many people work multiple jobs yet struggle to make ends meet while they watch CEOs make millions. #PROAct businessinsider.com/unemployment-v…
By restoring balance to the gutted National Labor Relations Act, the #PROAct will restore the collective voice and dignity of American workers from all backgrounds, no matter their background or color of their collar. Image

The strength of America’s greatness can't be attributed to one man, but to the force and determination of an entire people as diverse as the land we call home. The vote to acquit President Trump is as much a reflection of the deep partisan divide in our country as it is a result.
Despite overwhelming evidence and testimony, I fear President Trump, as well as future presidents of both parties, will be emboldened to undermine our democracy, subvert accountability, and avoid transparency with impunity because of the precedent set by the Senate Majority.
I'm thankful for the bravery of individuals such as Senator Romney, who broke with the Republican Party by voting to convict President Trump for abuse of power. Such an act of patriotism should not be difficult, though sadly, it has proven to be a bridge too far for Senate R's.
